We fought the good fight.
We traded blows with Hollywood heavyweights and held our own.
We went the distance and we didn't go down.
But when the bell rang the points didn't fall in our favour and we didn't take any statues home.
Still we couldn't be more proud of our special q***r indie film.
The past few weeks have been so inspiring and humbling as friends and colleagues in the industry reached out or responded to us to commend our film and lend us their support.
Congratulations to the winners, all well deserved.
To our nominees, to our incredible cast and crew, to everyone at IFTA, to everyone who voted for us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
This is not the end of our journey, it has hardly begun.
As the late, great Karl Shiels would say:
Onwards.....

Due to an electricity blackout last night I only just caught up on the IFTAs Awards Ceremony on now. Good thing we pre recorded our segment on Thursday night(!) where a great mini bash was had by all our nominees at The Dean Hotel.
It was a real achievement for our indie film to land six nominations amongst such top drawer talent as featured in this year's awards. Congrats to the brilliant who won in my category and and .ruth it was an honour to be nominated alongside such fine women. As you can see from the smile on my face, I'm happy out.
A big thank you to and all her members who voted for to for presenting my category.
Grá mór from our whole tribe. 💙🏳️🌈
Who We Love is in consideration for several categories at this year’s Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) awards.
The film revolves around young LGBTQ+ characters and has an anti-bullying theme. It recently screened at the Galway Film Fleadh and won the Best Fiction Feature at the Kerry Film Festival.
It’s a truly independent film, with no funding body or studio support. IFTA members can view the screener and cast their votes within the IFTA members login area.
