The boys and girls were so privileged yesterday to be given a workshop by international tenor Dean Power and composer James Hurley. They taught the children lots about singing and composing and had them join in a song with Dean. Such a fabulous experience for our pupils.

Huge congratulations to the boys and girls in the choir who performed so wonderfully at the Limerick Choral Festival on Friday. They did themselves and the school so proud and they were so excited to get to compete for their first time. They were very excited about the McDonalds too đ
5th class pupilsâ projects on the theme of âMy best Clarecastleâ on display at the Clarecastle Community Develoment meeting held 22nd Feb. The creativity and imagination of our pupils really inspired the adults in their work at enhancing our community.

What a night at Peace Proms 2024 for the boys and girls in our choir, last Saturday night in UL arena. After a rehearsal and short break they were part of a thousand strong childrenâs choir that participated in a wonderful spectacle of music, dance and song, accompanied by the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland. The night finished with the ultimate dance party and the singing continued long after the concert was over and the lights had been switched back on. #peaceproms2024

Special visitor in Clarecastle NS this morning! Santaâs robin made a guest appearance to see how good all the boys and girls are being!
Some lovely photos from our Peace Proms rehearsal day in Limerick, thanks to Peace Proms official photographer and a little snippet of our wonderful choir performing in Barefield NS at Canadh le Chéile last week.
Last Thursday our school choir joined three other schools in Barefield NS for Canadh le Chéile, a fun choral event which celebrates music. 150 children participated in workshops which covered breathing, actions, warm ups and rounds. They also learnt a song on the day which they performed as a whole choir, before each school choir performed one song for the other schools. It was a wonderful occasion for the boys and girls in our school choir.
Best of luck to our 3rd class teacher, Kate Harrington, who is playing in a Munster Junior Camogie Final with St Josephâs Doora/Barefield tomorrow. We hope you have a great match
Well done to our Girls who are Div 2 Cumann na mBunscol Champions đ They defeated Newmarket in the final in Cusuack Park and had great vocal support from the stands !@clarecastlegaa_camogie_lgfa
Despite the rain and cold, 2nd class had a wonderful experience at Happy Out Forest Schools this week. This is a wonderful initiative which will be run over 6 weeks in Lees Road forest. The children will take place in fun outdoor forest activities such as scavenger hunts, den building, nature arts and crafts among many others. This programme encourages them to be at one with nature and safely explore their natural environment.
