Satakieli:
Satakieli (meaning 'Nightingale' in Finnish) is an ensemble of women's voices dedicated to performing the beautiful folk-based and contemporary a ca****la music of Finland. They came together in 2022 and rehearse on a monthly base, in Kilkishen Cultural Centre. They have so far performed joint concerts with Ancór in Limerick and Cois Cladaigh in Galway, as well as Culture Night in the Clare Museum, Ennis, in 2023. The choir is directed by Richard Pomfret.

Harmony Bro:
Harmony Bro is a recently-established a ca****la group of men based in Ennis, who sing a wide variety of music from Doo-wop to Barbershop to Sea Shanties and enjoy performing anything with a bit of harmony. They won 1st prize in the National Competition for Lower Voice Choirs at the 2024 Cork International Choral Festival. The choir is directed by Michael Hennessy.

Culture Night will be happening on the 20th September this year. Lots of exciting events around Ennis and our county. Our church will be supporting Culture Night by hosting two amazing groups. More details to follow......

St Andrew's Concert Choir is a community choir from Ontario, Canada and on tour in Ireland with a 40 singers strong choir, under direction of Devon L. Hansen.
The St. Andrew’s Concert Choir is an extension of the St. Andrew’s Cancel Choir from St. Andrew’s United Church, a historic 189-year-old church in Chatham Ontario.
St Andrew's Concert Choir has been performing for concerts and special events since 2015. This group is comprised of all ages and abilities from amateur to professional. They typically perform 3-4 concerts a year and an overseas trip bi-annually and this time in Ireland. They are on tour in Ireland and looking forward to their performance in St Columba's Church with Ennis Brass Band on Saturday 27th July.

DEVON L HANSEN, director BMus, MA, RMT, as the Director of Music at St. Andrew’s, oversees an energetic and growing music ministry. He founded the concert series "Saturdays at 7" which is now in its eleventh season. He directs the Chancel Choir, which is a 40-voice choir that sings each Sunday as well as the Concert Choir, which is a 60-voice community choir that performs at annual concerts. Devon also directs the CK Chamber Orchestra, which is now in its 3rd season. On top of the adult ensembles, he is also the co-director of the Bel Canto Choir School for children ages 8-18.
Devon Hansen obtained a Bachelor of Music in piano performance magne cm laud as well as a Master of Arts in Musicology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He also attended the "Musician's Mentoring Course" at the National Ballet School at the young age of 16. He has been accompanying classes both in theatre, music, and dance on both sides of the border for almost a decade now. He is most proud to have accompanied under the late Erich Kunzel and John Morris Russell. Due to his energy, passion and vibrant playing, Devon is actively in demand as a soloist, chamber artist, composer, teacher, and music director.

The University of Michigan Women’s Glee Club will be visiting Ennis and St. Columba’s Church next month from the USA.

A great opportunity to see this choir on their global travels.

The University of Michigan Women’s Glee Club is a choral ensemble representing treble voices from across the United States and beyond. Through the Women’s Glee Club, undergraduate and graduate students can express their love of music by performing both within their university community and throughout the state. The choir seeks to uplift all voices through song, sisterhood, and service. Since 1893, the Women’s Glee Club has demonstrated its musical excellence through consistent local concerts and performances as well as annual tours that span the globe. In keeping with this tradition, the Women’s Glee Club is excited to share its passion for choral music with a new audience in Ireland this May
