Corns are skin thickening that most often develop on the feet and hands as the body's response to continuous friction or pressure. These calloused, often painful areas are a defense mechanism of the skin, aiming to protect deeper layers from damage. Although corns may seem like merely an aesthetic issue, their presence can indicate more complex foot health issues and require proper attention and treatment.
The causes of corns are varied. One of the main ones is wearing inappropriate footwear. Shoes that are too tight, too loose, or poorly shaped can cause excessive friction or pressure on specific areas of the foot, leading to corn formation. Additionally, high heels increase pressure on the front part of the foot, which can also contribute to their development.
Another factor can be abnormalities in foot biomechanics, such as flat feet, excessive pronation (excessive inward movement of the foot during walking), or other deformities that can cause uneven weight distribution on the foot and increase the risk of corns.
Frequent repetition of specific movements, especially among athletes or people performing physical work, can also lead to the development of corns. Pressure and friction caused by tools or sports equipment can result in their appearance.
Treatment of corns often begins with changing the behaviors that contributed to their formation. This can include switching to more suitable footwear, using orthopedic inserts to correct foot abnormalities, or avoiding activities that lead to their creation.
However, in cases of persistent, painful corns, or when home treatment methods do not provide relief, a visit to a podiatrist is recommended. This specialist can safely remove the corns, assess the causes of their formation, and recommend appropriate treatment and preventive measures.
A visit to a podiatrist is particularly important for people suffering from diseases such as diabetes, which may have a reduced ability to heal wounds and a higher risk of infection. Professional assessment and treatment of corns in such cases can prevent more serious health complications.
In summary, corns are a problem that can have both simple and more complex causes. Changes in daily habits and proper foot care can bring relief in many cases, but in situations where corns are painful, persistent, or recurrent, consultation with a podiatrist is crucial.🫶🦶

Cracked heels are a problem that can affect anyone, regardless of age or lifestyle. 😡 There are many causes of this condition, and understanding and excluding them is key to effectively solving the problem and implementing appropriate therapy. 😍
Inappropriate footwear, long-term overload, e.g. at work or in sports, overweight, a number of autoimmune diseases, vitamin deficiencies, age, improper foot skin hygiene, climate, a number of factors causing biomechanical disorders, genetic conditions - these are just the most important reasons.😉
Regular care by a specialist and at home, proper footwear and a healthy lifestyle can significantly help maintain healthy and smooth heels.🫶🦶
TOO SHORT SOCKS – WHAT EFFECT DO THEY HAVE?
An often overlooked topic, but a very important aspect of taking care of foot health - choosing the right size of socks 😊 Although it may seem trivial, too small socks can and usually have a very negative impact on foot health, circulation, comfort and general well-being of our body.
What puts our feet and health at risk?
✅ Pressure and restriction of movement - too small socks may exert excessive pressure on the feet, which leads to limited movement of our toes, and long-term use of such socks may contribute to their deformation, contractures and other serious orthopedic problems.
✅Circulation problems - limited blood flow in the feet caused by tight socks can lead to cold and numb feet, but in the long run it may increase the risk of more serious vascular diseases, especially in people with such predispositions.
✅Skin irritations - because the pressure of too small socks can cause abrasions, blisters and even wounds, especially in people with diabetes, and constant and chronic exposure of the skin to abrasions almost always leads to the formation of calluses and other hyperkeratoses of our skin.
✅ Posture and walking disorders - uncomfortable socks can cause unconscious changes in the way we walk and our biomechanics, which can lead to posture problems and pain in other, higher parts of the body, up to and including migraines.
✅Nail problems - constant pressure on the nails can lead to their deformation, damage, and often even ingrowing them, regular, long-term exposure to inappropriate pressure may contribute to chronic nail problems, also manifesting themselves in other nail diseases.
✅Overgrowth of soft tissues on the phalanges leads to inflammation of the ingrown nail.
✅ Increased risk of mycosis and other superinfections - tight, non-breathable socks can produce moisture, which is ideal conditions for the development of athlete's foot, as the main factor contributing to fungal foot infections is insufficient ventilation.
To sum up, choosing the right size of socks is an important element of taking care of your foot health. To avoid negative health consequences, it is worth choosing socks that are airy, made of materials that ensure good air circulation and perfectly matched to the size of the foot.
You also need to take into account the frequent change of sock size after washing or drying!!
Remembering these simple rules can significantly contribute to improving the comfort of everyday life and preventing long-term health problems.

Does your finger or fingernail look similar🤔
Do you feel discomfort later to on Your nail😥Is your fingernail thick and has a white color🙄
Does your fingernail grow ,but not to much🙁Will your fingernail wrap😫
Do you remember the mechanical injury🤯Were the shoes too tight🫤🫤🫤
Are your running shoes suitable🏃🏃🏃
Nail damage In many cases, it can lead to irreversible changes or therapy of such nails can take several years.
Another reason that can create such problems is too small, too tight footwear (mountain trips) poorly made surgical procedures.
Our foot is able to adapt to all kinds of footwear but the consequences will see this for a few or a dozen years.
The worst consequence is the overlooking of the distal palette (bones on the palischer), in this case plastic surgery remains.
Remember !!!!
Pay attention to your feet🦶🦶🦶🦶🦶
Pay attention to the selection of normal footwear (wide and high in front)👟👟👟
If you notice disturbing signals on your nails, do not wait until the problem enlarge !!!!!

Psoriasis: Understanding Chronic Dermatosis
(This and much more in my latest article from the Polish magazine MyWay ❤️)
Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin disorder characterized by red, flaky patches, often covered by a silvery-white scale, predominantly located on the skin of the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back. Affecting approximately 2-3% of the global population, psoriasis carries a significant psychological and social burden, affecting people's quality of life.
Although the precise etiology of psoriasis is not entirely understood, the disease is generally recognized to stem from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. It is known that individuals with specific human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genes are at a higher risk of developing the condition, indicating a clear genetic predisposition.
Psoriasis is characterized by a hyper-proliferative state of the skin, leading to thickened, scaly patches. This state is thought to result from an imbalance in the immune system where T cells, typically defending against pathogens, erroneously target skin cells. The trigger is often an environmental factor such as stress, injury, infection, or certain medications. In response, a cascade of inflammatory cytokines, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), interleukin-17 (IL-17), and interleukin-23 (IL-23), is released. This leads to a rapid turnover of skin cells, resulting in the characteristic plaques of psoriasis.
Psoriasis presents in various forms, including plaque psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, inverse psoriasis, and pustular psoriasis, each with distinct features. However, plaque psoriasis, characterized by raised, inflamed, red skin covered with silvery-white scales, is the most common variant. Diagnosis of psoriasis is typically clinical, based on the appearance of the skin lesions. However, a skin biopsy may be required in ambiguous cases to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other dermatological conditions.
The treatment of psoriasis aims to reduce inflammation, slow the rapid growth of skin cells, and remove scales. Current treatments can be categorized into three broad groups: topical treatments, systemic medications, and phototherapy. Topical treatments, including corticosteroids and vitamin D analogues, are often the first-line therapy for mild to moderate psoriasis. For moderate to severe psoriasis, systemic medications such as methotrexate, cyclosporine, and biologics targeting specific immune responses (e.g., adalimumab, ustekinumab, secukinumab) are more commonly used. Phototherapy, using ultraviolet light to slow skin cell turnover, is another effective treatment option. While these treatments can control symptoms and manage flares, psoriasis is a chronic disease with no known cure.
Psoriasis is a complex, multifactorial disease with significant impacts on patients' lives. As we continue to unravel its pathophysiology, it opens up new avenues for targeted therapies. This ongoing research, coupled with individualized treatment strategies, holds promise for improved management of this chronic dermatosis, and possibly, finding a cure in the future.
