Best of luck to the participants and organisers of Inishbofin Regatta, a fabulous day of traditional currach racing, entertainment, music and craic taking place next Sunday 18th August. Our lifeboat crew will be docked at the pier around 5pm, please stop by to say hello and we love any opportunity to show off our very special lifeboat, St Christopher.

Experience the thrill of traditional currach racing, featuring 4-oar, 6-oar, and more. Registration begins at 12 PM at the new pier, with races commencing around 1 PM.

Join us at the Beach Bar in the evening for a delicious hog roast and live music, followed by a fundraising raffle. It’s the perfect way to unwind and soak up the island’s vibrant atmosphere 🎻🎶🚣‍♀️

The Inishbofin Playground has been temporarily closed due to outdated equipment that no longer meets safety standards. To facilitate its reopening, a fundraising page has been set up to raise funds for repairing and upgrading the equipment. There is a donation bucket in the shop and in various businesses around the island.

We appreciate your support in helping us ensure our playground is safe, fun, and ready for the community and visitors 🙌

A few weeks ago, islanders and business owners had the opportunity to delve into the world of artificial intelligence during the AI Skill-Up-A-Thon, presented by Microsoft in collaboration with Galway County Council and FIT. This event is part of a broader initiative aimed at bringing AI training to rural areas of Ireland. We were fortunate to participate in this training, which aimed to equip participants with essential AI skills and knowledge.

The event was a significant step towards fostering technological advancement and economic growth in rural Ireland 🙌
