Imbloc blessings…..first day of Spring 😄💛🌿🌼
🔥‘Brigid, kind & clever goddess whose name has never gone unspoken, whose gifts have never gone ungiven
Brigid of the healing hands Brigid of the hammer & tongs
Brigid who sweetens our words & kindles the fire of poetry within us
Goddess to whom so many have turned in times of joy & desperation, who calms our fears who lights our lives who warms our hearths
O sisters 3 who hold all art & craft in hand
Brigid of the flames
O lady of comfort & good cheer
Beautiful goddess grant us the blessings of your presence’ 🙏🔥
🔥Samhain Blessings to all as we enter the darker half of the year🔥
✨May the light within us all grow stronger ✨
🙏Honouring our ancient ancestors and those who have passed on on this night where the veil between the physical & spirit world is thin 🙏
Reminder: no classes this week, back on November 8th
🧡 🧡🧡
May you grow untamed,
like a wildflower, a medicine plant.
Unhindered by people pleasing and should be’s.
May all your colours and your medicine rise up through you.
And just like the rest of your wider, more than human community, your very nature, your wild spirit, will be the reciprocal gift you bring.

🍂Good morning 🍂
Ruth is running a pop up yin & restorative yoga class this Friday 6.30-8.00pm
Class pass or drop in €16.
✨Yin Yoga is the counterbalance to the more dynamic practice of yoga targeting the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body in a passive way.
Most of the postures are on the floor & you will recognise many of the poses which are held (with supports as required) for longer periods with minimal to no activation of the muscles.
✨Some yoga experience required.✨
Yin is a perfect complement to the more physical (yang) practice of yoga that emphasises internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine & is calming & stabilising to the mind.
The yin practice will be followed by a restorative & nourishing supported asanas.
📞DM or Text Ruth if you wish to attend 086 7702841.
3 places available.
💛💛💛
🍂A few drop-in places have become available for yoga tonight
🔺(If you would like to try a class without committing to a course, this can be a good option.
Our next 6-week block begins on 25th October)
📞Text Ruth on 086 7702841 or DM if you would like to take 1 of the places available tonight
✨6.15pm✨
a slow steady class that works on correct alignment & building strength while attuning to the breath-‘beginner friendly’
✨7.30pm✨
A stronger class for those with experience, both static & dynamic flow movements with strong leg work, conscious placement & subtle adjustments to find our internal ‘seat’ in the poses.
Suitable for teachers &/or trainees.
🌙As the birth of this new moon begins in the star of & with so many planets (6) close to the earth🌙
….in the Indian calendar the 9 nights of the goddess begins ✨✨✨

Sept 26 - Day 1 of
Jupiter, the brilliant planet of truth and dharma, is now the closest it has come to Earth in 59 years!
This powerful omen coincides with the opening of , the 9 nights of the goddess. A portal of healing is opening now, and for the next 9 nights, the nourishing influence of the will grow.
Tonight, we call in the first Goddess: Shailaputri - “Daughter of the Mountains,” the Awakener.
The daughter of the mountain is Shiva's beloved Parvati and the embodiment of Mother Nature Herself. Like Lord Shiva, she rides a bull, carries a trident and wears the crescent moon in her hair.
She represents pure primordial energy that can remove obstacles that block your success in life.
This is an auspicious moment to begin a project or commit to any action.
Her favorite flowers: Hibiscus and Jasmine
Ruling Planet: Moon
Mantra: "Om Devi Shailaputryai Namah"

FULL MOON – April 16
This Libra full moon opens a portal to greater hope, courage, and strength – especially for those seeking peace and justice in this world.
The full moon falls in the area of the sky known as CHITRA and is symbolized by a shining diamond, a jewel that’s formed under tremendous pressure and heat. This full moon offers solutions to our problems, and precious insight, even under tremendous pressure and stress.
It’s also the birthday of Lord Hanuman, the divine vanara (monkey god), who represents a wellspring of devotion, courage and strength hidden within our hearts. Use this full moon to step up to a higher version of yourself, and to focus on how you could help others in need.
Listening to the Hanuman Chalisa can also magnify the positive influence of this full moon.

2 spaces have become available, 7.30pm on Tuesdays
✨✨✨
In yoga the physical body (through asana) is used to find space and quiet in the mind & heart.
💛
A Meditation in Motion
In this class we use postures & movements to build strength in the legs (from the feet up) opening up the internal energetic system of the body. The breath then can flow more freely & the internal flow of our life force (prana) begins to strengthen & move through the body freeing up the waist, spine & releasing tension in the hips & shoulders.
✨
Conscious & attentive placement of the body refines our individual awareness while activating the breath to become deeper & freer…..creating space in both body & mind.
When the breath is calm, the mind is calm💛🧘🏻♀️
We finish each class with a deep relaxation.
Some yoga experience required (experience of surya namaskar/the sun salutations)

Happy New Year & Happy New Moon day 🌙 😊
Januarys new moon in Ireland began at 6.30pm yesterday.
Sharing this post from 🙏
‘And, what a great way to begin a New Year with a New Moon. The birth of this New Moon is in the nakṣatra of purva aṣāḍhā.
Purva means the first, before, or early.
Aṣāḍhā means victory or undefeated. So our New Moon, for our New Year, is early victory.
It has the power to invigorate or energize us that results in radiating our best qualities out to the world. You may like to focus on these aspects, ‘invigorate or energize to radiate’. Draw upon the fearlessness purva aṣāḍhā offers to find your voice and see your Self confidently shining in your future endeavors that you set your intentions towards this year.
Varuna, who rules the cosmic waters that spread in all directions to mobilize us into action, is the deity that governs purva aṣāḍhā. Water is a powerful force to reckon with. It can be torrential, terrain shaping, hard and separating. Water is also soft, yielding, inclusive and sometimes, still.
Which aspects of the water element will you decide to include with the intentions you set for this New Moon? For this New Year? Perhaps both are needed, depending upon the situation.
While purva aṣāḍhā grants an early victory and with that a heightened sense of self-worth and importance, what follows next may be a seemingly lull in continuing advancement towards your desire. Then, what? Then, the lesson of patience is realized. Patience to reflect, to be still and see what grows.
As you begin your journey into 2022, check your grounding, are you ready? Then go for it!
May this year bring all the buds of your actions into full bloom for your benefit, and all the beings and plant life on our amazing planet.’
Purva Ashadha is also symbolized by an elephant tusk, and is connected to the Hindu elephant god, Ganesha, who’s revered as the “Remover of Obstacles.” Purva Ashadha can remove stubborn blockages, and energize New Year’s resolutions.
Merry Christmas 🎄
Wishing all our students, friends & family a very happy & peaceful Christmastime ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Thank you to all who have journeyed with us over this last challenging year whether online or in person 🙏
It’s been an amazing year in many ways & we are so grateful for this lovely community & your support.
Changes ahead but for now time to enjoy this special time of year & some time out.

BKS Iyengar was one of the foremost proponents in bringing Yoga to the West. You don't see him acknowledged as much these days but, amongst so much more, he also introduced the use of props enabling Yoga to be accessible to and for all.
Nearly every yoga studio now uses these props and makes use of the alignment knowledge he so generously shared.
It is in gratitude to him I share this insightful excerpt.
Excerpt from 'Yoga For Everyone' by BKS Iyengar
"Newcomers to yoga have to learn that at first asanas are practiced at the level of the anatomical body alone – the stage called Arambhavastha.
This beginner's stage is important and should not be hurried through. In order to learn the asanas , beginners should be primarily concerned with getting their movements right. Beginners have to grasp the whole asana, and not lose themselves in the finer details. It is more important for you to start by striving for stability within a pose. This provides a strong foundation.
You will then enter the intermediate stage, or Ghatavastha, in which the mind is affected by changes in the body. When you reach this stage, you are practising the movements correctly, your body is under your control, but you must now push your mind to touch every part of your body. You must become aware of your tissues, organs, skin, and even individual cells.
Parichayavastha, or the advanced stage is the stage of intimate knowledge, when your mind brings your body in touch with your intelligence. Once this happens, the mind ceases to be a separate entity, and the intelligence and the body become one. Your adjustments are more subtle and discriminating now, and are in the realm of the mental and physiological body, rather than merely in your muscles, bones, and joints.
Nishpattyavastha, is the state of perfection. Once the intelligence feels the oneness between the flesh and the skin, it introduces the atman – the self or soul. This frees the body and integrates it with the soul in the journey from the finite to the infinite.
Then the body, mind, and self become one.
At this stage, asanas become meditative and spiritual.”
November is mental health awareness month. Sadly, we don’t always know the depths of someone’s depression until it is too late. 😥 May I please have even 1 friend or family member to copy and re-post? I am trying to demonstrate that someone is always listening....💚💚💚
Just one. Any one.
