“Underestimated”
As part of the virtual exhibition based in the heart of County Kilkenny these are some of the handmade framed pieces l have worked on while designing and creating statement cushions/soft furnishings.

For a while now l have been working with circular textiles and love how they elevate any space, the rich colours and stitches, with a little art deco popped in with the beautiful stoneware vase.

One of my passions is The Ancient Art of Weaving as you all know by now 🥰
Here is a little of what goes into creating these pieces, is it worth mentioning that these weaving looms are made from Irish wood 😍

Over the coming days l will have one of my larger pieces completed, so excited, it really is a game of patience looking for the right piece of wood to carry your wall hanging and then the drying, the sanding, treating of the wood, keeping it all natural of course 🥰

I will be posting more of my virtual exhibition later on, hope everybody’s Monday is going well 🥰

In a world where materials are often dismissed as mere remnants destined for landfills, I see potential and beauty. This collection is born from materials that many would discard without a second thought—leftovers, remnants, and scraps destined for landfills. But to me, these materials are far from waste. Each one is a hidden gem, waiting to be transformed into something extraordinary. In a world that often underestimates the value of what’s left behind, I see potential and possibility.
My work is driven by a zero-waste philosophy, ensuring that nothing is overlooked. Every piece in this exhibition, with a little creativity and care, becomes something beautiful and meaningful.
In many ways, “Underestimated” is a reflection of my own life. Like the materials I work with, I, too, have felt underestimated at times. Yet, just as I’ve turned these remnants into art, I am determined to turn my own challenges into triumphs. This exhibition is not just about reclaiming materials; it’s about reclaiming my own narrative, proving that both the art and the artist have something valuable to offer.
Over the coming weeks, I will be unveiling pieces from the “Underestimated” collection. Each one is more than just art; it’s a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the beauty that lies in what others might overlook. I hope that as you explore this collection over the coming weeks, you find inspiration in the unexpected and see the world around you in a new light.
