Delighted to announce that I will be running a new 6 week block beginning on 29th April. Going off the feedback from parents I'm running it again. As parents I urge you to challenge your children outside of Field/Ball Sports, this is the perfect environment - Studio in a Gym - it's like teaching them to Cycle a Bike - once shown the right way they never forget. I pride myself in my ability to deliver a structured Fitness Regime in a Fun and Open manner - giving the children opportunities to express themselves and explore different aspects of equipment and gym culture.

Exercise intensity is described as low, moderate, or vigorous"
Should every workout be Vigorous Intensity?
I say absolutely NOT.
Should some workouts be Low Intensity? Absolutely YES.
You need to acknowledge this as an Individual - Learn your body, Learn how you are each week.
How high your Heartrate is or how much you sweat is not the gauge of how well you performed in a workout.

Well I'm absolutely delighted to be posting this as it will be my third block of running Kids Fitness Club. The feedback from parents is empowering. Improving the next generation's health and well being has become a huge goal of mine. If you do Contact sport, do you train your Neck?
Weather its Soccer, Football, Rugby or Boxing, if your sports exposes you to Physical contact you most certainly should incorporate Neck training into your Fitness regime.
Below is one of the many exercises I teach and personally use myself.
Main reason to train your Neck is to stabilise the Head from a "Whiplash" effect when contact is made to another person.
This is so so important. πͺ
Now is the perfect time to start a fitness regime that you can consistently incorporate into your life. Having alot of interesting conversations in the gym at the moment with alof of interesting people, it seems to be a reoccurring trend that EVERYONE is now aware of.....the gym and a fitness regime is not just a 6 week programme or a 12 week "shred" it's a Lifestyle.
I've asked countless number of people "Why do you workout" and the answer has been the same across the board from young and old.....To Feel Good, and I always say if "You Feel Good, You Look Good" we are all different shapes and sizes, not one single person is the same but what is the same is no matter what the fitness regime is, once you move, your body will react with releasing chemicals called Endorphins which makes us Feel Good, this is informally known as the Feel Good hormones.
My motto has always been "Let's Move Like We Once Could" and this should be the long term goal for everyone, everyday I get up before I place my feet onto the ground I'm grateful that I'm able to stand up and put movement into my body like roll my shoulders, roll my head around in small circles, touch my toes and shake my hands out to wake myself up naturally.
This is my favourite type of movement because it means I'm still going even though sometimes I feel very stiff and sore, plenty of water and sleep solves all these issues.
Don't hesitate to ask me for help in trying to decide what fitness regime would suit you best, I'm here to help as that is the main purpose of my job title as a Movement Coach.
Get moving as soon as you can because you never know what's around the corner.

Absolutely brilliant working with all the kids in Cullina National School, implementing my programme and seeing the kids moving and having fun is so rewarding. Week 1 done and the feedback has been amazing.
My first Competition as a Powerlifter.
Training vs Competition
In Training I repped this weight 20 times comfortably feeling like everything was on point, no problems what so ever, relaxed and composed. ππͺ
In Competition, different animal altogether, I was tense, anxious and full of negative feelings, complete opposite to Training. Failed the lift in Style. π€¦ββοΈπ
Learnt so much from that one lift.
How to stop this from happening in a Competition (not just Weight Lifting, any Competition that you decide to do, 10km race, Boxing, Rowing what ever it is, Competition is Competition.
1. Travel to different gyms/venues/tracks - become familiar with different set ups prior to Competition date.
2. Train without your Headphones π§ not able to use them when you Compete π€ͺ
3. When warming up on day of the event listen to relaxing music, Adrenaline will have your heart rate high enough as it is already.
4. Don't eat different foods on the night before or morning of Competition, eat what you normally eat. STAY AWAY FROM THOSE ENERGY GELS if you have never used them before. Learnt the hard way. π€¦ββοΈπ€’
5. Have Fun, take it in, chat to strangers that are competing, they are feeling the same way as you no matter what the experience level is like.
