In this clip, Pauline Bewick discusses her relationship with her mother, Harry, a sculpture artist who made art from items found in dumps and who lived in a house made from scavenged materials. Ogham, the ancient Irish script, was devised around 300 A.D. - it was the precursor of the Gaelic language. The Ogham alphabet was an exception to the largely oral nature of early Irish society.
In our workshop 'Written on Stoneβ we will explore the mythology, history, and the practicality of this ancient script that is inscribed on the edges of stone. These inscriptions denoted the burial places of the chieftains or the boundaries of the tribes.
Join us on this coming Friday, the 20th September, to learn more about Ogham writing and give it a go yourself! βοΈ

Caherconree Mountain is steeped in history, it's home to an Iron Age fort, known as "Cathair Con RΓ," which dates back over 2,500 years.
Once you reach the fort, if the weather is in your favour you will get panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and also a glimpse into Ireland's ancient past.
Did you know that it is the second highest peak in the Slieve Mish Mountains on the Di**le Pensuilla.
