🖥️ Digital MidWest, an employer-led skills network, officially launched its new website at our very own Engine Collaboration Centre on Cecil Street. We were honoured to have Patrick O'Donovan TD, Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, join us for this momentous event.

Meet Neasa, the talented UX/UI/Graphic Designer for Mavarick, a technology company committed to helping manufacturers reduce their carbon footprint. Based out of Engine in Limerick, Neasa's role is pivotal in blending technology with user-friendly design.

Mavarick operates from the Engine Hub in Limerick, promoting collaboration and innovation by maintaining a dynamic office environment. This setup minimizes silos and fosters team input on projects, making it an ideal workplace.

Neasa works on-site at Engine, with the flexibility of hybrid work from home. She appreciates the Hub's excellent facilities and central location:
“I am able to get out in to the city on my lunch breaks and go for walks in the park or by the river with complete ease. I also really like the fact that the building has meeting pods. It is great as it allows for silence when on calls or if concentration is required and more options for when meeting space is at a premium.”

Originally from Cork, John serves as the general manager at Ministry Brands, his second company to set up in Limerick. The first company, Transact Campus, was established four years ago in the Hanging Gardens and has been thriving ever since.

Transact Campus initially began its journey in Engine in March 2020, right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. John believes they wouldn't have succeeded without Engine, as having a business address and access to support and infrastructure were crucial for getting the business off the ground. Engine provided the necessary flexibility, and their team of 85 has grown since then.

Ministry Brands, a company with a 30-year history and consisting of about 50 brands, is currently in a growth phase. Established in Engine in April 2023, Ministry Brands will have 30 employees in Engine by the end of April, starting with one office and now renting three. Engine's scalability and flexibility are essential for Ministry Brands to adapt to their future needs.

In his spare times, you’ll find John enjoying outdoor activities like running, rowing at Shannon Rowing Club and playing golf.
