This was Frank McCourt's hometown. The late Pulitzer Prize-winning author described his childhood growing up in Limerick in his 1996 memoir, "Angela's Ashes." You can take an "Angela's Ashes Walking Tour" that will bring you to places featured in the book. They include Arthur's Quay, Windmill Street, Barrack Hill, Leamy's School, Parnell Street and more. The tour departs from the Frank McCourt Museum. The museum is open from April through October only. Admission is €5. Photo: Brian Morrison, Tourism Ireland. Limerick, Ireland
