Ellen Keane swam her final race for Ireland in Paris today and dedicated her performance to “little Ellen”, who first competed in the Paralympics at the age of 13. It’s the end of a glittering career for Keane, which was capped by winning Gold in Tokyo and Bronze in Rio.

🇮🇪There was a huge turnout in Dublin on Monday for Ireland’s Olympic heroes, who returned home from Paris with a haul of 9 medals which put them an incredible 19th in the overall medal table.

Katrina Mackey’s goal made the difference in an incredible final as Cork made it back-to-back All-Ireland Senior Camogie titles with a 1-16 to 0-16 win over Galway at Croke Park.

Cork also won the Intermediate title beating Kilkenny by a point in a thriller, while Tipperary claimed the Junior title in another brilliant clash, beating Laois by a point with the winning free coming in the fifth minute of injury time.

A brilliant day of action all round.

Ireland’s women’s 400m relay team of Sophie Becker, Rhasidat Adeleke, Phil Healy and Sharlene Mawdsley produced a stunning performance in the final but agonisingly finished in fourth place, just outside the medal positions.

But what a performance and what a thrilling race.

Rhasidat Adeleke has proven she is one of the best athletes in women’s sprinting at the age of just 21 with a fourth place finish in the Olympic 400m final!
