Area Sales Manager

We currently require an experienced and enthusiastic Area Sales Manager to join our sales team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales Manager to significantly develop the sales in the area of Limerick, Clare and Tipperary.

The role will report to the Sales Manager based in Limerick and the main functions include: -

Manage the commercial performance of your sales area;
Meet and exceed targets;
Maintain and grow the customer base including existing and new customers;
Identify and develop sales into new market sectors including independent retailers, local contracts and key accounts; and
Be flexible and responsive to your customers’ needs
The successful candidate(s) must have:

Experience and knowledge of the catering, foodservice & independent retail sectors.
Excellent customer focus, communication skills and ability to build rapport with customers and the team
Proven ability to manage the commercial performance of their area;
Proven track record in identifying and winning new business;
Be a team player with ability to work on own initiative with a “can do” attitude; and
A full, clean driving licence.
This is a key role and an attractive salary and performance related bonus together with a company car will be available to the right candidate.

We are looking for a Junior Buyer with good analytical skills in the role of buying and planning. You will work directly with suppliers and external partners allowing you to grow your professional network and experience whilst working in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Ordering

Process daily and weekly purchase order requirements through set of preferred vendors to ensure all orders are placed correctly.
Ensure that preferred Vendor status and price files are maintained
Optimise order frequency to maintain lean ordering practices

Commercial Conditions & Supplier Relations

Negotiate best price
Negotiate best credit terms
Build long term relationships with vendors

Stock Management

Ensure sufficient stock available to fill daily / weekly customer demand
Optimise Stock turn per category – Approx 10 categories to manage

Key Skills

Good knowledge of the fresh food distribution sector
Strong Negotiation skills.
Ability to focus and prioritise tasks.
Strong Organisational and Planning skills.
Good Communicator – both internal and external

Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports

An analytical mind with strong math skills, completer-finisher with attention to detail.
