Next week we are host to Prof. Nancy Luke, professor of Sociology and Criminology and faculty associate at the Population Research Institute at Pennsylvania State University.
Prof. Luke is a global leader in the study of sexual behavior in the global south and has made major research contributions to sociology, demography, and epidemiology, particularly with respect to the intersection of gender and family dynamics.
Her seminar 'Fathersβ Time Investments in India: A Preference for Sons?' will take place on Monday 16th September at 3pm in the Glucksman Library.

JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ Doctoral degree (level 10) or equivalent in sociology.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
β’ To deliver undergraduate level courses in the sociology of youth and the sociology of globalisation.
β’ To deliver tutorials to undergraduate sociology students.
β’ To assist with the assessment and grading of undergraduate student coursework.
β’ To co-ordinate undergraduate tutorials and tutors on the BA general entry.
DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will work as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology, University of Limerick. Undergraduate sociology courses are delivered across a range of programmes including the BA general entry and the BA in psychology and sociology.
Essential Criteria
β’ Doctoral degree (level 10) or equivalent in sociology.
β’ Have teaching and assessment experience at undergraduate level.
β’ Have evidence of research expertise and teaching experience in the sociology of youth and/or the sociology of globalisation.
Desirable Criteria
β’ Have published (journal articles or book chapters or books) in at least one of the following areas sociology of youth, sociology of globalisation.
β’ Have experience of delivering course content in a blended learning format.
