I recently had the privilege of photographing this stunning wedding, capturing the sacred moments and traditions that made the day truly special. From the heartfelt vows exchanged before God to the joyous celebrations that followed, every aspect of the day was filled with deep meaning and love. The ceremony was a powerful reminder of the Christian values of faith, love, and commitment, which were evident in every glance and gesture shared between the couple. Pure West Cork Magic,

While capturing John & Sal's wedding yesterday, I was so engrossed in photographing them near O’Donovan's Castle that I didn’t notice a beautiful horse peeking its head over the fence. It startled me at first, but I encouraged the bride and groom to approach it. The horse turned out to be incredibly friendly, and its white coat against the rugged landscape added something truly special to the photos.

Denny and Sarah exchanged vows in the picturesque Gougane Barra, on what must have been one of the rare, stunningly sunny days of the summer. The entire area came alive, with vibrant colors and a breathtaking backdrop that felt almost magical. This wedding felt especially close to home for me, as the bride prepared at the beautiful Castle Hotel. The bridal party couldn’t stop praising the hotel staff, particularly Kay, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect.

With Gougane Barra just a stone’s throw from the hotel, it made for a truly enchanting setting to say "I do" and then return to the warm and welcoming Castle Hotel. The location was ideal, offering everything needed for stunning wedding photos. Not only does Gougane Barra provide breathtaking scenery, but the nearby town of Macroom is also perfect for capturing beautiful wedding moments. The castle grounds and riverside walkways are some of the most scenic spots you’ll ever find. Macroom is a charming, quiet town, where the locals always light up with smiles as a bride and groom pass through. It’s one of those old Irish towns where warmth and hospitality are a way of life.

I love how the little girl has both her feet in the air as she runs... In this joyful wedding scene, the young bridesmaid and groomsman, full of excitement, dash ahead with infectious energy. The little girl, holding a bouquet of flowers, beams with happiness in her delicate lace dress, while the boy, looking sharp in his suit and bow tie, is right by her side. Their playful race captures the spirit of celebration and adds a heartwarming touch to the special day, as they lead the way for the bridal party behind them.

Tom and Carol's wedding day was nothing short of unforgettable. The rain poured down relentlessly, but when I mentioned to Irish-born Carol that we couldn't come all the way to Sheen Falls Lodge without exploring the stunning scenery, she was all in. With a smile, she hiked up her dress and fearlessly climbed the rocks, completely unbothered by the rain. She knew her dress would get soaked, but she was determined to bring home some truly magical memories to Canada.

The whole crew from Canada was incredible—the groomsmen were just as adventurous as I was, and we all had the best time. We danced in the rain, laughed about it, and kept pushing forward, making the day even more epic. What a day to remember!

Yesterday's wedding at Sheen Falls. When i walked into the boat house a million ideas fluttered through my head, But you kind of match the image choice to how you believe the morning you spent with your Bride and groom kind of went, In other words, while listening to them and having the craic, I said a few old-style images will work great at this wedding. Then I saw the doors of the boat house and I knew it was a dip and kiss, a black and white shot, bring the image back to the 60s. Like a movie.....

A little sneak peek..
What a wedding! What a bridal party! From start to finish, the day was a rollercoaster of laughter. As soon as I stepped into Aishling's mum's house, the warm welcome and banter began. We dove right into stories over coffee, chatting like long-lost friends. Then, off to Jonathan’s parents' house, where the guys were bouncing off each other like a comedy troupe. Jonathan's crew of merry men were the best bunch you could imagine, instantly clicking and feeling like old pals. The vibe was so chill, I knew we could capture any images we wanted.

Now, let's talk about Aishling and Jonathan. What a couple! The past few years have tested their relationship, revealing its true strength as they faced life's toughest challenges. Through it all, they've built an unbreakable foundation of love. Aishling, you're a superhero. Your inner strength and triumph in the face of adversity show that beautiful Irish spirit. Fair play, you two!

An awesome image at the last wedding, So there was a balcony, and Asked one of the guests to run up and have everyone turn around and face us, A lot of Limerick and Cork heads up there so was easy to get the crowd going after the last hurling match between the two sides... Kevin Daly Video had the drone on hand and flew it over for the loudest cheers you will ever hear....

what a wonderful couple! While some might call it a meeting of Limerick and Cork, in truth, it’s simply two people deeply in love. Their playful rivalry only adds a charming sincerity to their relationship, year after year.

From the moment I arrived at Sarah’s house, I was welcomed with such warmth. Chatting with her father while taking in the stunning view from his farm was a true pleasure. At the Aherlow House Hotel, Shane and his groomsmen were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect.

The sun shone brilliantly over the Galtee Mountains, providing a breathtaking backdrop for this emotional and heartfelt wedding. After the summer we've had, the warm, sunny weather was a delightful surprise, highlighting the beauty of the landscape and enhancing the joy of everyone present.

2 new awards arrived. And 2 fantastic couples.

These are the images you don't often see from photographers. These are the heartfelt moments captured once the ceremony is over. I love to go behind the bride and groom and photograph the reactions of the guests. I want to see the "oohs" and "aahs," the gasps of awe as they take in the beauty of the bride. I strive to capture real, unfiltered emotion.

In my mind, I wonder about the stories behind each smile and tear. Perhaps that gentle smile and kind eyes belong to an uncle, proud to see his niece radiant with joy. Maybe the friend who gazes at the dress, unable to hide their awe, is reliving memories of their friendship. Or it could be an aunt, watching her nephew transform into a husband before her eyes, her expression a mix of nostalgia and pride.

These moments, these raw emotions, are what I aim to capture. You can't truly see them from the sidelines. I turned these photos black and white because I believe monochrome holds and conveys emotion more powerfully. Though, rest assured, the bride and groom will receive both color and black-and-white versions.

To me, it's not just about the images; it's about preserving the essence of the moment, the genuine connections and emotions that make a wedding day so special. What do you think? Should I shoot from the sidelines, or immerse myself in the crowd to catch these fleeting, precious expressions?

Aw, lads, some laughs with this crew from Limerick. Now the weather was not playing ball with us, we had this amazing setup all ready to go for an outside wedding Castletroy Park Hotel the setting was amazing outside. weather was fantastic, warm and sunny, 10 minutes before the bride was due to walk down the aisle, good old Irish weather, it started raining. The poor staff hustled to get everything back inside so we could have the ceremony. Thankfully all was well. But what laughs we had, from the moment I arrived with the bridal party to heading down to meet Stuart and his family, we were in tears laughing all day. It was not work, when you are having fun and you get on so well with the whole crew it is a pleasure to come and take a few pics.. I took it in the neck for Cork County listening to these guys tell me how they are going to destroy us on Sunday. Come Sunday I hope we beat them, so I can come back up and have the craic once again..
this wedding had so much emotions and laughs and tears, all to come.. stay tuned.
