I know ...I know its not even Halloween and im talking Christmas but we only work with small artisan farmers.Anyone who understands farming will know it takes time and huge dedication to produce higher welfare produce.Our farmers hatch the Turkeys for Kerrigans in June and they are then cared for 7 days a week to make sure they have the food and water they need to thrive and to protect them from possible predators.We are truely grateful of the network of hard working like minded professionals that we have made over 50 years of busineess.The products that we have for Christmas 23 will not be available on supermarket shelfs ( Although they will say different ) we know most of the birds avilable by mass production are produced over 6 weeks as opposed to 6 months and will not grow to full confirmation.Then the supermarkets will struggle with the extra cold storage and the expertise it takes to make sure the Turkeys are kept at the optimal temperature.Every year we read about the rise of complaints the supermarkets recieve because of badly handeled Turkeys that have gone off.So in summary support your local butcher like Kerrigans who will dedicate their Christmas week to make sure the Turkey you buy from them will be a delicious fresh Irish Turkey.
