A warning to all R1234YF users.

We hereby wish to inform you that, according to some reports received from the automotive, refrigeration and air conditioning markets, situations of anomalous behavior of the R1234yf refrigerant gas are occurring.

In rare cases also in other gas mixtures (BLEND) that contain it, such as R448A, R449A, R452A and R513A. Under certain conditions, these gases can begin a polymerization process, creating filaments and white foam.

To better understand the issue, we had several conversations with the manufacturers of these refrigerants. Confirming the criticality of the situation, they suggest that this transformation can occur in circumstances such as high temperature, humidity and significant presence of oxygen inside charging stations, refrigeration circuits, air conditioning, automotive A/C and cylinders.

Therefore, we recommend paying particular attention to these critical issues, producing a vacuum of at least 3000 ppm inside any circuit or container where the gas will be inserted.

It is also advisable, before connecting to any machinery or system, to check the contents of the cylinder by opening the tap in the liquid phase for a fraction of a second, letting the product come out. To carry out this test, it is essential to use all necessary safety devices.

In reference to the polymerization problems of the R1234yf refrigerant gas, which cause significant damage to charging stations and related systems, Mariel has introduced a NEW gas verification SYSTEM. This system allows you to protect your air conditioning equipment.

We strongly recommend using the MA1234/SPY device to prevent any damage.
