recasting technique- caint carousel
When you hear your child make a morphology error, you can easily carry out an effective technique called recasting. Simply restate what your child just said, but with the error corrected. Make your restatement casual by framing it as a clarification or adding some expansion. You can add a little emphasis to the word you have corrected. Even though your child doesn’t have to repeat the word in this technique, research has shown that it is an effective language teaching tool. Who would benefit from attending: This webinar is a must for all parents with a child starting school. Who is presenting Cathy is a Senior Paediatric Occupational Therapist with 17 years’ experience working in health care. Cathy began her healthcare journey with a BA in Social Care Practice. Cathy has worked in a wide range of residential and clinical settings supporting children and adults with complex needs. Cathy’s professional career as an OT has provided her with a number of opportunities including working for private clinical settings including an award winning social enterprise. Cathy has a special interest in strength based therapy within the neurodiversity community. Cathy has completed Ayres Sensory Integration Training, Handwriting Without Tears, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Occupational Performance Coaching. Workshop Cost €20 This workshop will be delivered on Zoom and will last approx. 1 hour
