Did you know reflexology can be a game-changer for your reproductive health & regulating your menstrual cycle?
If you’ve been struggling with irregular periods, hormonal imbalances or painful cycles, Reflexology is a natural approach that can help your body get back on track naturally.

By targeting specific reflex points linked to your endocrine system, like the pituitary, thyroid & adrenal glands, reflexology helps your body regulate hormone production. This is essential for a healthy cycle and you’ll start to see improvements in everything from PMS symptoms to more predictable periods.

Reflexology can provide natural support for those diagnosed with PCOS or endometriosis.
🩸PCOS, it helps balance hormones and supports the ovaries by stimulating reflexes linked to the endocrine system and reproductive organs.
🩸Endometriosis, reflexology targets points connected to the uterus, ovaries & pain relief areas like the solar plexus & adrenal reflexes to manage pain & inflammation.
While not a cure, it supports the body’s natural healing & helps make symptoms more manageable.

What really makes a difference is how reflexology boosts circulation to your reproductive organs.
By providing oxygen & nutrients, it creates an ideal environment for better function leading to more balanced cycles, less discomfort & improved management of symptoms like endometriosis pain or irregular PCOS cycles.

Stress can seriously disrupt your cycle, reflexology is one of the best ways to target that. By working with reflex points connected to your nervous system, like the Solar Plexus reflex, reflexology is not just reducing stress it is helping your body shift into a state of deep relaxation. This is what allows your hormones to regulate & your cycle to stabilize.

I also make sure we focus on detoxification. Stimulating the liver & kidney reflex points supports your body’s natural ability to remove excess hormones & toxins that might be throwing things out of balance.

If you’re ready to take control of your reproductive health, feel more aligned with your body & finally experience balanced, regular cycles, reach out below🫶

One of my favourite questions to ask any Mother to be when they come in for some well needed rest and nurturing, is “would you like me to show you your baby’s growth under your uterus reflex on your foot?”
Which is always met with excitement and can bring a deeper sense of connection between mammy and baby 👶

🌻For the first three months of pregnancy, the embryo is reflected on to the inner aspect of one of the feet, unless there is a multiple birth, in which case it is reflected onto both feet.
This can be seen on the medial side in between the area of the uterus and bladder and is often quite subtle during the first trimester.

🌻As the baby progresses in growth, this is mirrored on the Mother to be’s feet.
Towards the end of your pregnancy, you may be able to detect your baby’s position with the smaller swelling being baby’s head and the larger swelling baby’s body.

🌻In Chinese Medicine, everything is a balance of Yin qi and Yang qi. With the left side of your body being Yin, female and right side of your body being Yang, male.
Some people believe that you can determine the gender of the baby using the principles of Yin and Yang. If the “bulge” of your baby’s growth is more pronounced on one foot than the other, it is said that the side with the larger bulge could indicate the gender.

Reflecting on the connection between our feet and our well-being, some images of maternity clients who kindly let me share of their uterus reflex point, remind us of the nurturing care and beautiful bonding experience you can give yourself and your baby during this special journey.

The last few days have been unintentionally centred around Maternity Reflexology in my practice and it is indescribable to say how sacred and special it is to treat during pregnancy, each experience is completely unique and there is a very transcendental experience.

🌻Reflexology ultimately contributes greatly in creating an ideal environment in which your baby can grow through the bringing into balance of the body physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

🌻It is extremely effective at preparing the body for labour due to its remarkable effects in the endocrine system which is the main body system involved in pregnancy and labour.

🌻Treatments reduce the effects of pregnancy symptoms such as morning sickness, haemorrhoids, constipation and acts as a preventative treatment to boost the immune system.

🌻Maternity Reflexology helps ease and in the majority of cases back pain and pelvic pain. It is excellent at reducing oedema. Reflexology is superb at rebalancing the body to help protect against any irregularities that may occur.

🌻Mothers that received reflexology throughout their pregnancy report that the birth process is much easier, faster, more natural and the baby after birth is more content, vibrant and healthy.

Above all it allows the Mother To Be to be nurtured, held and to feel safe in a healing environment which will in turn have the same effect on the baby and throughout Maternity Reflexology both mammy and baby can rest, sleep and bond together in a sacred space free from any demands of the outside world during this time.

~ Let’s talk about Gestational Diabetes ~

There are a few common conditions of pre-natal pregnancy.
Through specialising in Fertility, Maternity & Post-Natal Reflexology and from treating so many beautiful Mothers To Be, it has become prevalent to me that gestational diabetes is more common than one might think.
~This is a type of diabetes that some women get during pregnancy. Between 2 - 10% of expectant mothers develop this condition, making it one of the most common health problems of pregnancy. ~Gestational diabetes usually has no symptoms.

According to the American Diabetes Association, a woman is considered at high risk for this condition (and should be screened early) if:
🌻She is carrying excess body weight. 🌻Has had gestational diabetes in a previous pregnancy.🌻Has sugar in the urine – this is a symptom🌻Has a strong family history of diabetes.
Some practitioners will also screen a person early if a person has other risk factors, such as:🌻A woman has previously given birth to a big baby ( 8 pounds, 13 ounces / 9 pounds (4,000 grams, or 4 kilos).🌻A woman who had an unexplained stillbirth.🌻A woman who had a baby with a birth defect.🌻A woman with high blood pressure.🌻A woman aged 35+.

~In addition, a study published in the March 2010 issue of Obstetrics & Gynaecology found an association between excessive weight gain during pregnancy, particularly in the first trimester & the risk of gestational diabetes.
~Researchers also found the risk highest in women who were overweight to begin with & in non-white women.

✨Reflexology, as a practice dates back thousands of years and it has roots in ancient civilisations including Egypt, China and India.
Eunice D. Ingham played a pivotal role in shaping modern reflexology as we know it today.
She is often called the “Mother of Modern Reflexology,” for her truly groundbreaking contributions to holistic health.

✨Ingham’s contribution was primarily in mapping out specific reflex points on the feet and hands that correspond to different organs and systems of the body.
Her work laid a solid foundation for the systematic practice of reflexology, distinguishing it from massage or foot therapy.
By developing her maps and techniques, she refined the concept that stimulating these reflex points could positively influence the corresponding areas of the body, promoting relaxation, improved circulation, and overall healing.

Eunice’s legacy is a beautiful blend of innovation and compassion in the healing arts and provided a structured framework that reflexologists continue to use to this day, making her a central figure in the modern practice of reflexology👣

~For women, there’s sometimes a link between hypothyroidism and infertility.
Low levels of thyroid hormone can interfere with the release of an egg from the o***y (ovulation), which impairs fertility. In addition, some of the underlying causes of hypothyroidism - such as certain autoimmune or pituitary disorders may impair fertility in which iodine is a good supplement.

~Further close monitoring of thyroid hormone levels during pregnancy can promote normal foetal development and reduce the risk of miscarriage.

~How the Thyroid Affects Ovaries~
🌻 The levels of the thyroid hormones must be at a certain level to conceive.
The thyroid is responsible for every cell in the body.
It converts iodine into two thyroid hormones: thyroxin (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). In low thyroid function (hypothyroidism) or high thyroid function (hyperthyroidism), it is no surprise that this imbalance can have an effect of the ovaries.

🌻 It is known that the ovaries are very sensitive to changes in thyroid levels and seemingly small declines in thyroid levels (that are still in the normal range) can adversely affect ovarian function.
Research indicates that about 70% of women with PMS have low thyroid levels, which make the ovaries less able to produce progesterone leading to PMS symptoms.

🌻Low thyroid also contributes to another reproductive condition, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which affects about 10% of the female population and is a factor in infertility.
Many women experiencing infertility or other women’s health issues are told their thyroid is fine despite having low ovarian thyroid levels because standard thyroid testing often misses it.

With proper supplementation and optimisation of thyroid levels that may be achieved through reflexology many women are able to conceive naturally or with subsequent IVF.

🌻Check out the last slide for some options on helping you support your thyroid naturally🌻

Reflexology is gentle manipulation by applying pressure to the foot which stimulates the flow of oxygenated blood, helping to release blockages in specific areas that may be causing pain or discomfort in our bodies.

It aids in your body’s natural healing process bringing the body back to homeostasis and restoring balance within.

It is known to support fertility and assist with fertilisation by promoting deep relaxation, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being.

This practice is believed to balance hormones and increase blood flow to the reproductive organs, aiding in creating an optimal environment for conception.
The profound relaxation and stress relief it provides can significantly improve reproductive health, as high stress levels can be commonly linked to fertility issues.

Take the time to experience the nurturing benefits of fertility or maternity reflexology and support yourself throughout this journey👣

Fertility Reflexology is a beautiful holistic approach to reproductive health. Reflexology can help provide both physical and emotional support as well as aiding to your overall well-being.

🌻Hormonal Balance
~ Reflexology may help regulate hormonal levels, which is crucial for fertility and reproductive health.
Reflexology aims to balance hormonal levels by stimulating specific reflex points on the feet, which is crucial for fertility and reproductive health. This can help regulate menstrual cycles and improve ovulation.

🌻Helps Regulate your Menstrual Cycle
~ Reflexology can aid in regulating your menstrual cycle by stimulating specific reflex points on the feet, which in turn can balance hormonal levels and improve blood circulation to reproductive organs. By promoting relaxation and reducing stress, reflexology can also help alleviate PMS symptoms and stress-related hormonal imbalances.

🌻Improving Blood Circulation
~ Reflexology techniques stimulate blood flow to the reproductive organs, which can enhance their function and health. Improved blood circulation can also help address issues like uterine fibroids or ovarian cysts.

🌻 Supporting Reproductive Health
~ Reflexology can target specific reproductive reflex points to address conditions like PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome), Endometriosis, Ovarian Cysts or Low S***m Count.

🌻Enhancing the Mind-Body Connection
~ Reflexology helps to promote relaxation while improving overall well-being, by promoting relaxation and reducing stress (which can negatively impact fertility by affecting hormone levels and disrupting your menstrual cycle), this can help enhance fertility by creating a favourable environment for conception and pregnancy.

🌻Supportive to Medical Treatments
~ Fertility reflexology is a holistic approach and can complement medical treatments for infertility, potentially increasing their effectiveness.

The shedding of skin on the feet can symbolize a renewal process, both physically and emotionally.
Like casting off old layers of thoughts and emotions, paving the way for growth and healing.
After an illness, it’s your body’s way of signaling recovery and starting anew.

Your body’s ability to shed old skin on the feet can be seen as a natural form of self-regulation, indicating a healthy process of renewal and rejuvenation.
It’s an incredible example of the body’s innate wisdom and its capacity for self-care👣
To help aid your body in its natural healing process, I recommend using a moisturising cream / balm daily and is my go to.
