'Misty blue Killaloe bridge' SOLD
Now available on my website.
20cm sq canvas
Worked this painting from a photograph I took one Misty morning in Killaloe. The library features to the right. I loved the hues and the atmosphere the mist created. It really was this blue.
SOLD Started painting this fella at the end of 2022. Just when huge changes were coming and loved ones very sick. Blackbirds can symbolise end of life, but also rebirth and transformation . Seems so fitting to have painted him and was painted with no great intention. Just instinct.
He's perched on my website now.
Finished and up on the website 👏👏

Been Plugging away on this one ...nearly there
For the past few months I've been artist in residency at Scoil Muire in Ennis, Co.Clare working with their art department and these talented 5th year students.
They've drawn inspiration from art Noveau , looking at Mucha and Harry Clarke in particular, but used the style in a contemporary way, creating self portraits bringing in their own references. They fulfilled the brief really well and I was blown away by how different each one was and how well they took to free motion embroidery, printing, hand stitching and fabric painting. Great results 👌
Blackbird is back on the easel.
He's been sitting in a corner waiting for some more attention. He's got a bit more company on the canvas now with some lovely silhouettes which were images I took on a walk up by Clare Glens last year .
I'm so glad I can still paint it takes just one good hand!
This voluntary charity which I'm proud to be part of had its flag day this weekend. Please support if you can!

Dropped these fellas to .ie visitor centre in West Clare yesterday and had a lovely day trip with my own fellas to the crashing waves 🌊 of la Hinch, Spanish point and the cliffs of Moher. A real tonic.
I left a good range of puffin themed China ware and prints . 'I puffin love ya' mugs, travel cups, espresso cups, tea tidies, egg cups etc 'Puffin cool' and 'Puffin Great surf' theme too! Whole lot of puffin love!
Sold and on its way to its new home. So delighted.
These are the layout of the decal sheets, which will be used for the new mug/ travel mug/ egg cups, espresso mugs etc etc. The decals are being shipped as i type! I like the look of them in repeat. Maybe another product . 🤔 🤔
The design process takes soooo long. I've been working on and off on these since the beginning of the year. It is for The Cliffs of Moher visitor centre in west Clare. From creating the imagery, photography, photoshop editing, delivery time and then production in the studio, it all takes a while. All good things come to those who wait! So another couple of weeks and they will@be complete. 🤞
Some busy hands at work from 2023 projects. Lucky to love my work so much .
This artist in education residency, which I'm facilitating in Raheen Steiner school, has me thinking of how Temple Grandin in her book 'Visual thinkers' talks about different thinking types and learning methods.
Our school system puts a-lot of emphasis on verbal learning and thinking, when we need as much room for visual and spatial thinking. All thinking types need each other and have something to contribute to society .
Printing and stitching, there is huge learning in it; materials skills, brief following, analysing, decision making, experimenting and discover that goes on and in a fun creative way.
'I Puffin love ya'
I've gone Puffin mad with drawing Puffins recently. It's for a new project I'll tell ya about later: Spot the gold fish in the background?
Been using my travel mug every day this week. School schedule not back yet so I'm keeping my cool at home by dipping in the lake every morning. Bliss.
Those dopamine hits are addictive 🎇 and the hot water bottle and hot cuppa ☕️ keeping my core warm when I get out.
I made up a few prototypes of these hot water bottles as gifts for friends . I'm tempted to create as products. What do you think?
2nd day into 2024. Glad to see it. 2023 was a significant one here with the loss of 2 family members. We spend our New Years looking at past adventures (Tibet &China) with our kids and planning our adventures for 2024. It felt optimistic and exciting. I hope 2024 brings more peace and kindness to this world. 🇵🇸
