We were delighted to be able to present Margaret Denny, the local representative of Breast Cancer Research Ireland with a cheque for €2,855 this morning. The cheque was presented by Lady Captain Breda Fitzpatrick and men’s Captain Brendan O’Dwyer, also in attendance were both club secretaries Phyllis Furlong and John Shanahan.

A wonderful weekend of golf was had by all, well done to all the winners and to lady Captain Breda Fitzpatrick and committee for organising. All proceeds from the golf and raffle will go to Breast Cancer Research.

Best wishes to Club President Seamus Nolan for his big day tomorrow, a big turn out is expected to show their support for Seamus. All are welcome to the prize giving tomorrow evening in the Cove bar.

Last Saturday, our Lady Captain Breda Fitzpatrick hosted her prize to the members. After an exceptional days golf, where even the weather behaved itself, Clodagh Power emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins to claim the most coveted title of the year.

A great night was had all on Saturday evening in the Cove Bar, when a lot of ifs, buts and maybes were discussed regarding the day’s play. Congratulations to Breda for the great day, enjoyed by all.

A fantastic effort from our Cashman team yesterday in their Munster Semi Final clash against Muskerry GC, which was hosted by Mallow Golf Club.

There was a great standard of golf on display and after 4 games had finished, the score was 2 - 2, and all down to the final match out on the course. Even after 18 holes the tie was still level, so we preceded to a playoff and sudden death holes, where Muskerry just pipped our lads.

Whilst the result was disappointing for the players, we as a club are proud of the whole panel of players for their teamwork, commitment and the fighting spirit that they showed throughout the course of this competition.

They’ve been great ambassadors for the club and are a credit to themselves. We can’t thank everyone individually but a special mention to team manager Luke Curran and his vice captains of Aaron Croke and John Whelan for all their support during this season.

Congratulations to our Cashman Trophy team who were victorious against Fota Island Golf Club in Cork this evening in the regional quarter final.
An extremely close game which came down to extra holes in the final match and thankfully our lads got the win to set up a semi final clash against Muskerry GC.

Best of luck to our Cashman Trophy team when they travel to Cork on Sunday for their East Munster Quarter Final match against Fota Island GC, first tee time is 3pm. Luke Curran and his men have all the attributes to get the win and progress to the semi final. Any members wishing to take a spin down to FOTA and show their support for the team would be extremely welcomed.

Congratulations to our Michael Cashman Trophy team who were victorious over a very gracious Waterford Castle team this evening to progress to the east Munster Quarter Finals. Well done to Luke Curran and all concerned for a well deserved victory.

Our Carton Cup team who had a great match in the Gold Coast, it was all square after home and away matches, unfortunately beaten on the 20th hole. A great display by our team who enjoyed both days , we wish Gold Coast ladies well, and look forward to playing you again. Thanks to team managers and supporters

Hard luck to our mixed fourball team who were beaten by Tipperary golf club , after a very nail biting finish on the 20th hole. A very sporting and enjoyable day was had by all, we wish the Tipperary team well in the next match.

Congratulations to club members Ben O Dwyer and Deirdre Battye on winning the Munster R&A 9 hole challenge regional Qualifier.
