A challenging garden with limited access. All work to be done by hand and access by stairs. The brief was to use natural stone for new raised beds with a new block paved patio all at the one level, and install a mow strip for ease of maintenance going forward. Client is a keen gardener and will plant up the new beds, including the crevice bed and planting gaps in the walls

Achill project recently completed. A red sandstone folly with seating area and fireplace with a fire crane made from a repurposed 200 year old gate. Retaining walls and steps to match with new paths to access. All planted and mulched.

Busy week of clearing up after two storms. Remember that ivy can act like a sail in the canopy of trees and is one of the biggest causes of tree fall. A lot of alder came down in the storms. Alder is very quick growing but only has a lifespan of 40 to 60 years. This can be shortened even further with the presence of ivy. Only use licensed and insured contractors with the expertise and equipment to perform these tasks.

Client wanted a simple, "chunky" fence to define the edge of the lawn and create a barrier for safety. There is a very large,steep drop-off on the other side. 150mm posts with 150mm rails. Hidden gate for emptying ride on mower.
