Update - Better late than Never
The team recently took to the road in pursuit of race signatures for the fast approaching TT by travelling initially to Pembrey for the Bemsee Round 2 meeting 8th & 9th April. A new circuit to the lads and only their second outing together saw the team posting positive lap times and improving every time out. A huge thanks to Mike and Tracey and Bemsee for such a professionally run event on a fantastic track. True to the Sidecar Family it was like a race home from home. Special mention to Rob Handcock RJ Roadracing and Kirsty Dart for their hospitality and the honourable Paul Lumley and all their crew for advice and assistance.
A long trek faced us from Pembrey to our next destination East Fortune circuit, East Lothian for the First Scottish Sidecar Festival. The hope was to finalise race signatures for Terry as Liam was sorted at Pembrey. On route we arranged with Christie Engineering Services (CES) to give the outfit a run on the dyno. This turned out to be akin to the holy grail of racing as not only did we get to dyno the bike an issue was identified and while this surgery was taking place a new handle was fabricated at the same time and fitted to the bike. Huge gratitude to all the Christie boys and in equal measure Gary Gibson, can’t thank you enough. Our next stop was Carl and his team at Ian Bell Motorcycles who very kindly fitted our tyres, again service above and beyond.
No excuses now we headed for Scotland and what can we say……… Huge thanks to Boris Stroud, Marin for the invitation and support. To race at the inaugural Scottish Sidecar Festival was an honour and will be a lasting memory of a fantastic event 👏👏👏. Thank you to Gavin Browne and the club for their great work. We had a slight issue heading out for qualifying (wouldn’t be sidecar racing without it 😅) so the lads only got one flying lap, leaving them very happy and 5th on the grid of 18. Saturday racing provided 3rd place in two races and Sunday two 4th places with excellent racing and plenty of dicing. Off the track we had the privilege of meeting up with some old friends…..especially for Terry who is a bit older than Liam, 🤣the likes of Tony Baker, Gordon Shand, Davey Wrinn, Bill Davis, Alan Warden and the Bell clan to name but a few. A Mega, mega, mega weekend of racing and signatures in the bag and a team cemented for the TT. Our journey took us from Ireland to Wales, England, Scotland and home through Northern Ireland. True to form the Sidecar Community is strong. Thank you to EVERYONE 🏁🏁🏁

Some Exciting News….
Terry O Reilly, driver and Liam Gordon, passenger, are teaming up to compete in this year’s prestigious Isle of Man TT Sidecar races on board the Cosmic Racing LCR Suzuki.
While this is a new pairing Terry has previously competed at three TT’s, two with Aidan Browne and one with Eamon Mulholland. Liam has competed at two TT’s, in 2019 with Mark Codd, Cosmic Racing and with Rob Handcock in 2022.
We are relishing the opportunity to represent Ireland at this year’s event, the 100th anniversary of sidecars at the TT. The team are running #20 on the road.
Although a relatively new team the pairing has shown impressive form at each event. The team most recently travelled to the UK to compete at the Bemsee Clubs event at Pembrey and the Scottish Sidecar Festival at East Fortune to secure race signatures for IOM TT Mountain licence.
Competing at the TT, as any competitor/race team is aware, is a somewhat daunting challenge but the enthusiasm, work and preparation that has gone in, and is ongoing by the lads and their fantastic team has been second to none, Aidan McCarthy, Mark Codd, Mick Donovan, Pa Giltenane, Philip McNally, Danny Gordon, Ciaran Gordon, Shane Wogan, Anto Suzuki Ireland and Denise Kennerney, THANK YOU so much, we couldn’t do this without you.
