The Marx Brothers (Groucho, Harpo and Chico), 1935 photographed for MGM by the great Clarence Sinclair Bull.
I quite enjoy the flights of fantasy and the journeys graphic designers take my images on. Here's a 2024 poster design by John O'Connor of Information Design Dublin for Tom Hall's radio play 'Anything for a Laugh'. This play is about a small town bloke, played by Victor Merriman, who suddenly wins the lottery and then the world changes.
The poster is based on my 1985 photograph of Mikey Williams, AB from Byrne's Lane, strolling along the Woodenworks in Wexford.

I'm helping my old friend Kollie Zinnah raise urgently needed funds to pay for the legal costs involved in re-establishing legal ownership of his family farm in rural Liberia.
€845 has so far been raised. (Including cameras sold from outside the GoFundMe platform). We are so close to hitting the target!

In this picture that was made last week you can see Kollie hard at work at his family farm in Liberia.

I'll be back tramping along Wexford's wonderful coast next week. This is my current favourite picture from Curracloe. I shot this in March last year on a very windy day.
It may make the cut for the new book.

I've been practicing making pictures with my wonderful, slow working, Linhof Super Technika 6x9 camera. The deliberate process involved in setting up this camera prompts a calm visual expression. Ceapaim.
The black and white photograph was shot on 320iso film. It is part of my next book and was shot at The Nunnery Beach, south of Carne Beach, in County Wexford in June 30th 2023.
(The colour picture is of me and my lovely camera!)
This photograph of Mrs Grant and her young friend (I'd love to know who), standing outside the People Newspaper works on High Street, was made by my great-grandfather Thomas Morris circa 1945.
One of my all time favourite photographs, of two of the greatest human beings, is this one of Amelia Earhart with Harpo Marx, dressed as a dog catcher, ca. 1932 during filming of 'Horse Feathers'.
(Unknown photographer but the image is from the Purdue University, Indiana collection)
(Amelia Earhart was an American aviation pioneer and writer. Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She was born July 24, 1897; disappeared July 2, 1937; declared dead January 5, 1939)
Seasonal and eternal and in my gallery window right now.
I photographed this image at a Sudanese treatment centre for people affected by leprosy. I hadn't thought about it in many years and then last night in that bit of sleep between dreaming and awakening it popped into my mind's eye.
