My Money Plant Got a Glow-Up 🤩
A couple of weeks ago, I repotted my tiny little money plant. It got a bigger pot, fresh soil, and a bit of plant food. And guess what? It’s absolutely thriving now!
It got me thinking about how much we’re like this little money plant. We need the right foundation—a solid base where we feel supported, with enough space to grow—and regular nourishment to flourish, both physically and mentally.
Here’s what I mean:
☀️Foundations Matter: Just like plants need good soil, we need a solid foundation. Whether it’s making time for self-care, setting boundaries, or prioritizing rest, creating the right environment helps us grow strong and avoid burnout.
☀️Feed Yourself Right: I gave my plant food, and it made a world of difference. For us, nourishing ourselves comes in two forms:
Actual food: Fuel your body with the nutrients it needs. When we eat well, we have more energy, better focus, and we feel more balanced.
Self-talk: What we say to ourselves matters. Be kind, encouraging, and patient with yourself. The way you talk to yourself can either feed your growth or stunt it.
Give it a go and I bet you’ll have:
More energy, less burnout.
Better relationships with family and friends, because when you’re taking care of yourself, you show up more fully for others.
A sense of balance and resilience, because you’ve got a strong foundation and the right fuel to thrive.

What the………. just burned the dinner 😫😫
Multitasking just didn’t work out for me today! After an initial WTF, some very deep breathing, and a lot of kinda forced laughter—you know the kind—I remembered how I’m always advising my clients to keep in mind:
E + R = O (Event + Response = Outcome).
No one died, the house is still standing, and dinner will now have a lovely smoky flavour... Sure it’ll be grand 🤪
And because I’m a mindset coach (and a bit of a glutton for punishment), here are some top tips to stay calm when your dinner (or day) goes up in flames:
Think of it as character-building – Sure, if you didn’t burn the dinner once in a while, how would you know you were living a full life? Embrace the chaos!
Practice gratitude – Be grateful you’ve got a backup dinner option (toast anyone?), and hey, isn’t that what takeaways are for?
Find the lesson – Every life experience is a lesson. This one? Maybe it's “Stay focused on one task at a time” or “Set a timer next time!”
Laugh it off – It’s either laugh or cry, right? And sure, the neighbours can probably smell what happened anyway.
Remember, life’s little mishaps are all about how you respond. Burnt dinners? They’re just seasoning for the story you’ll tell later.

Start tomorrow 1st February and make a commitment to write 3 things you’re grateful for each day…..for the whole month…..every day.
You don’t need a fancy gratitude journal either. If you’re like me I’m sure you have a spare notebook you were gifted at Christmas or maybe you bought it for yourself and it’s just sitting on the shelf. Grab it and get started 🙌
The benefits of practicing gratitude are incredible, from improving mental health to boosting relationships. In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness!
It’s also a lovely way to reflect on the month afterwards too!

Talk yourself down and recognize you have not deliberately sabotaged your plans. S**t happens and we get derailed but somehow it seems to get magnified out of proportion because it's the beginning of a new year!
It's flu season and I know lots of my clients, friends and family who are all pretty much out of action because they're not well enough to start the gym programme they committed to or the yoga class or whatever else is on their list of new habits for 2024.
Take it easy; give yourself a break and take a breath and know you are exactly where you need to be right now!🙌🎈💫
