One of the first things that caught my attention when entering the textiles world was realising that from the day we are born, we are in constant contact with textiles. Choosing which textiles you want your skin to be in contact with is crucial for comfort and well-being.

Cochineal natural dye 🌵
It creates bright, bold and deep red colors. And as all natural colors, it's a beautiful.

It has been used for centuries to dye textiles as well as cosmetics and food.

As seen on the video the cochineal insect is a type of parasitic bug that latches onto prickly pear cacti (its host) in order to extract the sap.
