Request to all fellow viewers , thanks a lot for viewing and liking our page ,but it seems people r being missguided somehow regarding opthalmic asst vs optometrist issues . This association is for all of us both ophthalmic assistants and optometrists, both diplomas and degree holders . We are fighting together for ourselves . We do not encourage any kind of misunderstandings .
Getting registration is a lengthy tiresome process and we are thankful to our seniors Mr . Himanshu Roy Chowdhury , Mr. Subir Bhowmik , Mr. Tapan kr.Chowdhury , Mr. Sankar Narayan De and Mr. Biswajit Goswami for giving their valuable times from their busy schedules for achieving registration and other paperworks done on behalf of us . Co-incidencly all of them are govt employees but this association is for all of us ,both for govt and non-govt personals .

MINUTES OF MEETING

A meeting of optometrists of T.O.A. was held at Red cross society hall on 18/07/2015 at 1 pm with the presence of the executive body and fellow members of T.O.A. 45 members was present .
1. First of all one of our advisor Mr.Subir Bhowmik shared his views about future work plans in short .
2. Then advisor Mr.Sankar narayan De asked about the progress of the association to the executive body .
3. Joint secretary MR. Samit Banik gave the updated progress(i.e. room allotment )and the problems we are facing in the processing of the registration no.
4. Secretary Mr. Debashish Mondol shared is views on the needs and deeds of the association in its way of processing for the registration.
5. Advisor Mr Tapan Chowdhury questioned about the duties of our president and secretary to them.
6. Some of the members shared their problems on their work field and their thoughts . we also had group discussions on everybody's views .
7. Cashier Mr. Biswajit Goswami explained about the money collection and expenditure and the left over fund .

9. Finally the meeting ended with the hope that our association will find the right way for the right progress ...

There will be a general meeting of TOA on 18 th of July at Red cross society building at 1 pm onwards ...

Some very old information is being shared on FB about the duties of Ophthalmic Assistants. For all of your reference I am attaching the job role & responsibilities of an Ophthalmic Assistants defined by the NPCB, Ministry of H&FW, GoI. In the meeting minutes no where it has been mentioned that Ophthalmic Assistants has to prescribe glasses under the supervision of an MBBS Doctor.

15th of January, 2015 (for in-service Govt. employee).


15th of January, 2015 on wardsfor contractual staffs (all contractual staffs are eligible to submit the registration fee in two installments, on or before 28th February, 2015).


31st of March, 2015 ( all passout Optometrists).


N.B: Optometrist can submit the form to their respective District Coordinators.

The Tripura Optometry Association held its first meeting on 25th December, 2014 under the Convenership of Mr. Tapan Chowdhury. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Himangshu Roy Chowdhury and Mr. Debashis Mondal.

Minutes of the above said meeting can be listed as follows:

Mr Mondal commenced the program with a short presentation on the first North Eastern Regional Optometry conference cm Workshop.

Mr.Himangshu Roy Chowdhury followed by Mr. Sankar Narayan De and Mr. Tapan Chowdhury shared their personal experiences in the field of Optometry in Tripura; they also placed forward their plight in the way of strengthening their profession.

All attendees on that meeting gladly agreed to form an association for optometrist in Tripura for betterment of our profession.

Regarding the naming of the association the delegates proposed a few names; it was decided that the finalization of the name will be taken by the executive body and Media Co-ordinator team will also be a part of the discussion and will finalise the associations Logo.

Hence the house has decided to form an Executive Body for the said association and after discussion with all the attendees for each positions for the executive body which is as follows:

It was henceforth decided in the General meeting that the constitution of the Association has to be written by a prominent Advocate/ Legal Adviser.

It was agreed by all the delegates present that an amount of Rs. 5000 will be charged for availing life time membership for the Association.

It was also advised to all the delegates that they must have a smart phone and must have minimal asses to internet connectivity. As social media and mass media play a vital role in the present world. More over by using this modern gadget they can stay in close contact with all the members and share their views reviews regarding different issues.

The program was concluded by the President & Secretary with a slogan that the association will work in support of all the optometrist of the state to upgrade the job profile by serving the people of the state to dedicate.
