Bhagwati Chat was a humble beginning in 1989 towards providing quality, excellent food and great services in food & catering segment. The TGB Group diversified into outdoor catering in the mid nineties and met with instant success on account of their mouth watering preparations in Punjabi and Chinese cuisine which became popular with the non-Gujarati clientele of Surat and Ahmedabad.
While he dared to dream when nobody thought of, he pioneered the concept of creating professional approach towards catering and food business. After these revolutionary and innovative steps, he went ahead with this dream project of star category hotel and in year 2002 The Grand Bhagwati Hotel was opened with best services to offer. Today, The Grand Bhagwati has best of banquet and conferencing facilities which can host an in house function of 1500 people at a time with ease. It is also one of the only ISO certified Hotel & WI-FI enabled place that has resulted in making TGB as a desired place for complete in-house functions, events and weddings. TGB also opened a similar property in 2009 with the name ‘The Grand Bhagwati Seasons’ in Rajkot which offers the same luxurious experience.
Mr. Narendra Somani is also known for adapting cuisines from around world to the all-vegetarian format in his own signature style. Vegetarians swear by his adaptation of everything from Japanese sushi to cuisines from North West Frontier Province, while retaining all its taste and characteristics, right down to the presentation. In outdoor catering, Narendra Somani is known for setting some of most exhaustive and exclusive menus for celebrity weddings, which are then cloned by rest of the industry not only in India but also abroad.
In 2010, TGB opened a five star deluxe hotel, convention centre & a club at Surat. This is the largest five star deluxe hotel of Gujarat and is one of its kind in India, With its 170 rooms including 8 suites, 4 restaurants – a combination of fine dining and quirky cafes and lounges, undoubtedly the most happening discotheque and a 50 seater plush cinema, a fully equipped gym, entertainment and recreation amenities, TGB Surat has been consistently voted Gujarat’s most luxurious hotel.
Simultaneously his visionary & innovative approach, has envisaged opening of TGB World Cuisine Restaurant & Banquets across the major Tier II cities of India. The company has one of its prime model in Vadodara and is further expanding Pan India presence in cities like Jamnagar, Vapi, Nagpur, Indore, etc in near future. TGB also manages Patang, the only revolving restaurant of Gujarat.
TGB Banquets and Hotels Ltd. has also come with a new business vertical TGB Express in Nadiad. The company has replicated the model in Ahmedabad City (Maninagar) and would soon do it in Vadodara – Gujarat. All these are franchisee associates, who showed interest and faith in TGB’s management and hospitality.
Also as Mr. Narendra Somani is the sole promoter of Vegetarian Concept, therefore through all his hotels and outdoor catering TGB has now started to attract the young generation of the country with the concept of – Be Vegetarian!
