A wonderful session was held at Patanjali Nursery School for teachers on how to involve and enhance English language vocabulary among small babies of pre primary age group.

I thank the director Ms Rekha Baid Gupta and headmistress Ms Vibha Shrivastava for inviting me . The session became so much interesting because of the wonderful teachers who were so responsive and who enthusiastically participated in the discussion.

Dr Roopa Shankar is working as an Early Childhood Facilitator and a Counsellor since the past three decades. She founded and headed the facility for Early Childhood Education Little Scholars from 1992 until 2020. In this journey she could counsel children, adolescents, parents, family members and grand-parents and could address concerns related to mental health, disagreement of adolescents with parents, Identity Crisis, single parenting, joint family diverse views & many more.

Her education in Child Development and her subsequent research on human responses, each under the impact of Sattva Guna (wisdom and knowledge), Rajas Guna (action and ambition) or Tamas Guna (ignorance and delusion), has aided her career as a Counsellor.

She continues to work with children and adolescents.

Her book ‘and we called her Ana’ was published in 2021. The next, a corollary of her thesis on RK Narayan’s novels and Gunas, titled ‘Who are you?’ in 2022 and the third एक ही थी ऐना in 2023.
