On 21st June 2023, IKGPTU Amritsar Campus celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation. The event was aligned with this year's Yoga Day theme, Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,' effectively encapsulating our collective aspiration for 'One Earth, One Family, and One Future.' The occasion saw the active involvement of students from IKGPTU Amritsar Campus creating a sense of unity and shared purpose.

A notable figure at the event was Sh. Ajay Kumar, Youth Officer of IKGPTU Amritsar Campus, who graciously took on the role of Yoga Instructor/Coach. He played a pivotal role in guiding and instructing the participants in various yoga exercises, ensuring they performed the asanas with correct form and technique.

During the event, Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin, Director, IKGPTU Amritsar Campus took the opportunity to educate the students about the fundamentals and benefits of practicing yoga. A B.Tech.(Computer Science and Engineering) sixth semester student Manveen Kaur of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar has been selected to visit Indian Institute of Technology Bombay under the Yuva Sangam programme of the Government of India.
Yuva Sangam is an initiative by the Government of India to strengthen people-to-people connect especially among youth across the nation. It focuses on conducting exposure tours of the youth, consisting mainly of students studying in Higher Educational institutions from across the nation to various states of India.

Manveen, the student of IKGPTU which is the first State Technical University of Punjab, shall receive an immersive experience of numerous facets of life, development landmarks, recent achievements, and a youth connect in the host state of Maharashtra. During her visit, she will have a multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect), Prodyogik (Technology).

Her visit to IIT Bombay in Maharashtra is totally sponsored by the Government of India. Expressing her happiness upon getting selected under this unique Yuva Sangam program. Manveen applauded the efforts by Government for such a national level exposure to the students of Punjab, where youth of one state get an opportunity to understand the culture of other States.

The students of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar brought laurels to the campus by winning prizes in the One Day Cultural Fest-Aaghaz organized by I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar-Kapurthala, on 3rd May 2023. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of both main and constituent campuses, who showcased their talents in various categories of performances.
The students of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar enthusiastically participated in the fest and showcased their talents in different categories of performances. Alok Kumar, a second-year student of B.Tech. CSE, won the First prize in poetry recitation. Harsimran Kaur, a fourth-year student of B.Tech. CSE, secured the First prize in solo singing, while Vishal Singh, a first-year student of B.Tech. CSE, won the Third prize in solo singing. Arshpreet Kaur, a fourth-year student of B.Tech. CSE, won the Second prize in solo dance, and Manpreet Kaur, also a fourth-year student of B.Tech. CSE, secured the Third prize in solo dance.

Techkriti: Enhancing Technical Skills for the Future: A Seminar was organized by TECHNOVERSE, the Technical Club of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar on 17th February 2023.

The Techkriti seminar organized by Technoverse, the technical club of the I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar was a resounding success. The seminar provided a platform for the students to learn and enhance their technical skills. The seminar covered three main topics: web development, programming and DSA, and artificial intelligence.

The event was well-attended by the students and was supervised by Dr. Vipul Sharma, Coordinator of Computer Science and Engineering. The seminar was a great learning experience for the students and provided them with a glimpse into the world of technology. The Technical Club of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar "TECHNOVERSE", organized a technical quiz competition named TECHNO QUEST, which aimed to test the technical knowledge and skills of the participants. The competition received an overwhelming response from the students, who actively participated and showcased their expertise in various technical domains.
The quiz comprised three rounds, each designed to test the participants' technical knowledge and skills. The first round was a written test that included multiple-choice questions. The top-scoring students from the first round advanced to the second round, which was a rapid-fire round. In this round, the participants had to answer a series of questions in a limited amount of time.
The final round was a buzzer round, where the participants had to answer questions quickly, pressing the buzzer to gain an advantage. The participants had to answer the questions quickly and accurately to win the competition.
After tough competition, Aman Kumar Pandey from B.Tech. CSE emerged as the winner of the Techno Quest technical quiz competition, winning the first prize. The event was a huge success, and the participants thoroughly enjoyed the competition. They appreciated the efforts of the student coordinator of the event in conducting such an exciting and challenging event that tested their technical knowledge and skills.
Overall, Techno Quest was a great opportunity for students to showcase their technical knowledge and skills and learn from their peers. The Technical Club of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar "TECHNOVERSE" organized a coding contest BYTE BATTLE on 1st March, 2023.

The Technical Club of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar known as TECHNOVERSE, recently hosted a coding contest on March 1, 2023. The event aimed to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their coding skills and compete with their peers from different departments.
The coding contest was a massive success, with enthusiastic participation from numerous students across the campus. The event showcased the innovative ideas and technical expertise of students, as they worked towards developing robust and effective coding solutions.
After a rigorous coding competition, Divyam emerged as the winner of the event and was awarded the title of "Byte Wizard" for his outstanding coding skills. Shubham Singh, a B.Tech. CSE student, won the second prize, while Akash Gupta, another B.Tech. CSE student, secured the third position.
Overall, the coding contest organized by TECHNOVERSE proved to be an exciting and engaging event for the participating students, who had the opportunity to test their skills and learn from their peers. The Literary and Fine Arts Club of the IKGPTU Amritsar Campus organized a Quiz competition on February 10, 2023.

A quiz competition was organized at the IKGPTU Amritsar Campus. The event was coordinated by the Literary and Fine Arts Club of the campus and saw the participation of numerous students from all departments on campus.
The quiz competition consisted of several rounds consisting of topics in general knowledge, current affairs, history, and science. The participants were required to answer questions within a limited time frame. The questions were challenging, and the competition was intense.
After a rigorous and exciting competition, Nikhil Sharma, a student of B.Tech. CSE, emerged as the winner, securing the first prize. Kiran Kumar, also a student of B.Tech. CSE won the second prize, and Sukhbir Singh, another student of B.Tech. CSE won the third prize.
The competition was a huge success and was enjoyed by both the participants and the audience.

IKGPTU Amritsar Campus celebrates Holi with a vibrant Rangoli competition on March 6, 2023.

On the occasion of Holi, the Cultural Club of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU) Amritsar Campus organized a Rangoli competition on its premises. The event aimed to promote traditional Indian art and culture while celebrating the festival of colors with enthusiasm and fervor. The competition witnessed a display of creativity and talent as the participants used a range of vibrant colors, patterns, and designs to create stunning Rangolis on the theme of Holi. Akanksha and Kashish, students from the B.Tech. CSE department, won the first and second prizes, respectively, for their exceptionally beautiful Rangoli designs. Nisha from the BCA department and Kiran Kumar from the B.Tech. CSE department won the third prize for their impressive Rangolis. The participants expressed their excitement and joy at being part of the competition, which provided them with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and celebrate the spirit of Holi.

Freshers’ Party at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar

To welcome new students to campus, a freshers’ party titled ‘Bienvenue 3.0 ’ was organized in I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Amritsar Campus. Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Chawla, Dean (Academics), was the Chief Guest, who shared his insights and experiences with the students and inspired them to excel in their academic pursuits. Prof. (Dr.) Gaurav Bhargava, Dean(Student Welfare) was the Guest of Honour of the event.
The event started with the pious lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a message from Campus Director Prof. (Dr.) Amit Sarin for the new students. Dr. Vikramjeet Singh, Assistant Professor, coordinated the entire event.
After a thrilling round of performances and talent showcases, Mr. Satyam (B.Tech. CSE ) won the title of Mr. Fresher, and Ms. Riya (B.Tech. CSE) was crowned Ms. Fresher. The event also included dance performances and games, which kept the crowd entertained throughout the day.

Kiran Kumar, a student of B.Tech. CSE 3rd Year from IKGPTU I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University Campus Amritsar presented his innovative startup called "Rewheel" - "Redesigning the concept of wheels" in the G20 Summit, held at Khalsa College Amritsar on 17th March 2023.

His idea can solve the pain point of bicycle and tricycle riders.
He designed the new concept of a wheel, which is more efficient & jerk-proof than the traditional wheels. His product aims to make the ride smoother and more comfortable for cyclists, by reducing the jerks caused by bumpy roads and uneven surfaces. The product is designed to be affordable and easy to install, making it accessible to a wide range of users.

This Rewheel concept can be a revolutionary product in the bicycle or tricycle Industry. His innovative product has the potential to solve a common problem faced by bicycle and tricycle riders - the issue of jerks.

Juries from different places have also given positive feedback for his product and appreciated him for future innovations.

On March 15, 2023, a prize distribution event was held at the IKGPTU Amritsar Campus to acknowledge and honor the students who excelled in various technical and cultural events throughout the academic year. The event was graced by the presence of the worthy registrar of the IKGPTU, Dr. SK Mishra, who was the chief guest. During his speech, Dr. SK Mishra praised the students for their hard work and dedication and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields. He also emphasized the importance of extracurricular activities in shaping a well-rounded personality.

Dr. Prabhkiran Kaur, Coordinator, Cultural Club, and Dr. Vipul Sharma, Coordinator, Technical Club of CSE, appreciated the members of these clubs for their tireless efforts in organizing these events and providing a platform for students to showcase their talents.
