Under the guidance of Dr. AP Singh (Dean, SGRD University), Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar in collaboration with IAP Intensive Care Chapter India and IAP Intensive Care Chapter Punjab, hosted 1st North Zone Pedicriticon from April 26th to 28th, 2024.
The event revolved around the theme “Improving Critical Care: Basic & Beyond” saw monumental participation of both renowned and aspiring intensivists.
The 3-day conference hosted over 400 delegates, a remarkable turnout that highlighted the immense interest in cutting-edge developments within pediatric critical care. In the days leading up to the main event, six intensive skill development workshops were held on April 26th at various medical colleges and hospitals throughout the city.

Under the guidance of Dr. A.P. Singh, Dean, SGRDUHS and Dr. Karamjit Singh Gill, HoD, Department of Pathology and Organizing Chairperson conducted the NW Chapter of IAPM 2024 Conference on 21st April 2024.
Dr. Anita Borges, Lab Director, Centre Oncopathology & Head of Histopathology, SL Raheja Hospital, Mumbai headlined the conference as the Chief Guest. More than 450 delegates and dignitaries participated in the multifaceted deliberation, distinguished illuminaries from various parts of the country led the discussion on topics pertaining to challenges in diagnosis of diseases especially cancer and recent advancements in the field of oncology and pathology. Teaching fraternity from various medical colleges of the country gained a lot of insight into diagnostic techniques.
Students both Undergraduate and Postgraduate profited immensely from the experiences of the doyens of the field of Pathology. More than 180 Students presented Oral Papers and Posters also.

The Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Department of Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences celebrated Dietetics Day by educating budding Nutrition students about the principles of “Hospital based dietetics”.
Students of Clinical Nutrition from S.R.Govt College visited the University under the guidance Professor Ms. Minna Bagga for their Industrial Visit to celebrate the theme of Dietetics Day’2024.

# Hands-on workshop was conducted on ' Lumbosacral manipulation '. The resource person of workshop was Dr. Chirag Verma, a well-known Chiropractor of North India. He taught new innovative techniques to manage lumbo sacral stiffness, pain & other ailments related to lumbosacral region.

World Diabetes Week was celebrated in the institute with the theme "Access to Diabetes Care".

A central session was held on 14th Nov on the topic “Time in Range – from Theory to Practice” by Dr Gurinder Mohan, laying focus on continued glucose monitoring.
The Patient Education Program was held by BIRAC Diabetology CTN (Amritsar) in collaboration with SGRD College of Nursing on 15th Nov 2023.
Demonstration was provided on diabetic foot care and step by step guide to Insulin injection.

😇 Glad to share with everyone that our PG students (Dr Harsh*ta and Dr Ekam) from SGRD, Amritsar won the *1st prize*🏆 in NNF quiz divisional round 🎯.
Even our Nursing fellows got *2nd prize* 🏆 in the divisional round.

A Bereavement Companionship Programme aimed at helping communities and neighborhoods build the capacity to support members during times of grief is gaining popularity across the globe under the patronage of the famed Institute of Palliative Medicine (IPM) in Kozhikode.
The one day foundation course conducted in partnership with the Australia-based Death Literacy Institute Mission and Mission Better Tomorrow, the global arm of Nanma Foundation supported by UNICEF, has so far won around 300 learners across the globe, this is Happening for first time in North India especially Punjab at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar under the guidance of Dr. AP Singh, Dean SGRDUHS. Dr. Harjot Singh and Dr. Paramjot Bindra were the organizing secretaries.
"The aim is not to create a pool of trained professionals who can provide bereavement counselling services, but to prepare a group of community members to be good companions to a bereaved friend, colleague, or family member,” says Suresh Kumar, Director, World Health Organization’s Collaborating Centre for Community Participation in Palliative Care and Long-Term Care, IPM.
