Celebrating Dr. Ambedkar’s 134th Birthday in the Hindutva Fascist Context

On 14 April 2024, Indian people are celebrating the 134th birthday of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, “Father of Indian Constitution”. As exemplified in the 25 December 1927 ceremonial burning of Manusmriti that categorized the oppressed untouchable castes and women as subhuman, and advancing of the Hindu Code Bill to the Constituent Assembly on 6 April 1948, Dr Ambedkar stands ahead as the celebrated and undisputed leader of India’s most oppressed untouchables and lower caste people comprising vast majority of the working and toiling people together with his utmost dedication to women’s empowerment and gender equality. According to him, under the Manu code, Barhamnism had made the life of the untouchables and women worse than that of animals. Quite logically, Ambedkar is also acknowledged as the greatest ideological enemy of Hindutva.

Today, when we are commemorating Dr. Ambedkar, RSS, world’s biggest and longest-running fascist organisation which, through its political tool BJP, is already having its hold over the reins of India’s State power and Street power. It is now in a madding pace towards its ultimate objective of transforming India into a Hindurashtra that entails the undermining of the present Indian Constitution itself. For, when the Constituent Assembly was adopting the Indian Constitution and India was becoming a Republic in 1950, the RSS was proposing Manusmriti, its ideological guide as Constitution that Ambedkar had set on fire two decades back.

Along with the burning of Ambedkar’s effigy in Ram Lila ground for his proposal of the Hindu Code Bill in 1949, while India was finally adopting the Republican Constitution, Golwalkar and other leaders of RSS had no qualms in proposing Manusmriti, the ideological basis of caste system (which Ambedkar called “the bible of slavery for untouchables”), as India’s Constitution. Among other things, the RSS then said: “… in our Constitution, there is no mention of the unique constitutional development in ancient Bharat. Manu’s Laws were written long before Lycurgus of Sparta or Solon of Persia. To this day his laws as enunciated in the Manusmriti excite the admiration of the world and elicit spontaneous obedience and conformity. But to our constitutional pundits that means nothing.” This was perfectly in tune with the total identification of Indian nation with casteism as propounded by the then RSS leaders.

For a wide spectrum of left liberals including self-professed communists whom Ambedkar called “Brahmin boys”, Manusmriti-based caste system and/or a caste-based Hindutva nation was a mere super-structural and ‘cultural’ issue. But for Ambedkar, together with stigmatisation of Muslims and targeting them as main enemy of the nation, a caste-based Hindutva nation meant a situation where the twice-born Brahmanical castes would be prevailing upon Dalits, oppressed castes and women. Therefore, in contradistinction to the RSS position of a Hindurashtra based on Manusmriti, Dr Ambedkar had noted: “If Hindu Raj becomes a reality, it will undoubtedly be the greatest misfortune of this country. Whatever Hindus may say, Hinduism is a threat to liberty, equality and fraternity. This is incompatible with democracy. Hindu Raj should be prevented from being established at any cost.”

As a matter of fact, Dr Ambedkar’s views on Hindutva and his warnings about the dangers of a plausible Hindurashtra including his observation on it as a “veritable chamber of caste horror” were coming out at a particular historical context, when the presence of RSS in the political limelight was fading and the establishment of a Hindurashtra led by it was a remote possibility and its credibility being at its lowest ebb. As is obvious, this was on account of Hindutva leadership’s altogether betrayal of the Indian independent struggle and castigation of Muslims as the principal enemy of the nation coupled with RSS’ role in the political developments following Transfer of Power. However, today the situation is basically different and extremely dangerous.

In the overall background of the far-right, neofascist world situation today, and taking advantage of the set-backs suffered by the Indian communists whose ideological-political bankruptcy is more manifested in their failure to concretely analyse caste-ridden Indian society, the far-right RSS and Sangh Parivar have already established their stranglehold over the entire macro and micro spaces of Indian society with deep-rooted Hindutva fascist tentacles in the country’s political, economic and cultural spheres. With RSS control over the entire civil and military administration, judiciary, police, education, scientific research, history writing, art and literature and so on, the “Hindu raj” that Ambedkar cautioned and fought against almost a century ago starting with his burning of Manusmriti in 1927 is unfolding in its full-fledged form today. What remains is a formal declaration of it and the RSS/BJP fascist forces are engaged in accomplishing that task by securing a hat-trick win for Modi regime in the 18th Lok Sabha Election. And, this is the last chance before the Indian people to avoid such a threatening situation.

In retrospect, the greatness of Babasaheb Ambedkar lies in the fact that he is the only Indian political leader who was far-sighted enough to predict the dangerous consequences of a Hindurashrastra based on his analysis of Caste and the struggle and practice against Manuvadi Hindutva. Therefore, at this critical juncture, and when Indian people are observing the 134th birth anniversary of Ambedkar, it is high time on the part of the Communists to self-critically evaluate why they failed to have a proper perspective on the caste question and formulate appropriate steps including the badly needed unity with the working class and most oppressed castes who comprise India’s super-exploited working majority. Only such a formidable struggling unity of the working class and all oppressed by the inhuman caste system alone can provide the strategic base for resisting and defeating Indian fascism.

All India Anti-Fascist People’s Convention will be held on 10th March at Barrister Rajbahu Hall, Nagpur initiated by CPI (ML) Red Star. The Organizing Committee Coordinator Com R Manasayya and Revolutionary Cultural Forum General Secretary Com Tuhin explained the objective of the Conference at a press conference held at Nagpur on 7th March.

The Country’s Democracy, Secularism, Constitution and Social Reservation are in severe danger under the rule of RSS-BJP Manuvadi Hindutva-Corporate Fascist rule led by Modi Government. RSS-BJP Fascist has to be defeated in the coming general election as an immediate and urgent task to regain and protect the very principles and existence of Democracy, Secularism, Indian Constitution and Reservation. The entire oppressed masses of the country including workers, farmers, Dalits, Adivasis, Minorities, Youth and Women need to be united for this single task of defeating Manuvadi Hindutva-Corporate Fascist forces, explained the organizers in the press conference.

Leaders of revolutionary left parties, Dalit-Adivasi-Minority organizations, youth-students-women organizations, representatives of mass movements, prominent progressive intellectuals will participate in this All India Anti-Fascist People’s Conference. The conference will formulate an outline of this united anti-fascist struggle and finalize ‘Nagpur Declaration’.

The RSS, world's largest and oldest running fascist organization, underpins the BJP's claims of an overwhelming victory in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. This win signals a sweeping endorsement of Hindutva, propagated by corrupt corporate entities such as Adani and Ambani. Post-election, Hindutva, rooted in Brahminism-Manuvad, is poised to receive constitutional validation. Babasaheb Ambedkar's ideals will be trampled, replaced by the inhumane Manusmriti.

The Manusmriti, a symbol of oppression and discrimination, was famously opposed by stalwarts like Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Mata Savitribai Phule, and martyrs Bhagat Singh, Azad, Sant Kabir Das, Sant Ravidas, Basavanna, and Ayyankali, who valiantly fought against its inhuman caste system and Brahminism.

On one hand, the populace is fed the o***m of false nationalism, Hindutva, and the vision of a divine Ram Rajya; on the other hand, there is a nefarious plot to dismantle democratic rights, curb freedom of expression, erode human rights, and undermine the principles of reservation, secularism, and equality. The ruling class, an alliance of corporate capital and Manuvadi ideologies, is unmasking its dictatorship, casting aside the facades of democracy, principles, and rights. The RSS/BJP's corporate crony capitalists are inflicting excruciating torment upon the countries hard-working, exploited masses. Poverty, hunger, unemployment, and inflation have soared under Narendra Modi's self-proclaimed leadership, titled the 'Amrit kaal.' The Modi government prioritizes the interests of corporates, at the expense of the common populace.

The BJP government operates as enforcers for corporate giants across the country. It has declared a vendetta against the country's youth, women, laborers, Dalits, Adivasis, students, and minorities, especially Muslims, who fight for their fundamental rights. The government's crackdown on citizens advocating for constitutional and democratic rights, labeling them anti-national, and detaining them, is utterly appalling. The Modi government is brutally suppressing the farmer's protest, utilizing tear gas, rubber bullets, and lathi charges. The government's malicious campaign against farmers, branding them as Khalistani and terrorists, has fostered a hateful environment against the Sikh community. Violence and atrocious acts against women are escalating day by day. Leaders of the BJP are predominantly implicated in such violence or enjoy the party's protection.

In brief, the values and ideals won through the arduous freedom movement of the country teeter on the brink of annihilation. Today we are ruled by the same forces that were brokered by the British. Those who brokered British imperialism are still trapped in the shackles of imperialism. The Modi government, which serves domestic and foreign corporate capital, is reminiscent of the British colonial era. In these stifling circumstances, let's unite, voice our support for democracy, peace, the constitution, reservation, and secularism, and denounce religious bigotry, fanaticism, hatred, and division.

Together, let's ensure the success of the All India Anti-Fascist People's Convention in Nagpur on March 10, 2024. We urge you all to participate in large numbers and extend your cooperation.

Make the All India Anti-Fascist Peoples Convention a Success

Defeat Fascist RSS/ BJP,Save Democracy, Constitution, Reservation and Secularism

Friends and comrades,

On the initiative of CPI (ML) Red Star, it has been resolved to convene an All India Anti-Fascist People's Convention against Corporate-RSS Fascism in Nagpur (Maharashtra) on 10th March 2024 from 11AM to 5PM. The conference/convention will be organized with central slogans like “Defeat RSS-BJP”, “Save Democracy, Constitution, Reservation and Secularism”.

Conference Venue: Barrister Rajabhau Khobragade Hall, Siddharth Nagar, Kamathi Road, Nagpur, Maharashtra.

Under the guidance of the world's largest and oldest fascist organization RSS, BJP, if it wins the Lok Sabha elections to be held after two months, is going to create a Hindu Rashtra of most corrupt crony corporate houses like Adani, where the inhuman Manu Smriti will be declared as the Constitution by abolishing the existing Constitution of India made by Babasaheb Ambedkar. As per Manusmriti, all the poor toiling masses, dalits, oppressed, tribals, women, other backward classes and minorities shall be given the status of sub human .

When the Hindu Rashtra project is relentlessly pursued by Sangh-BJP for the interests of the corporates, the people of the country are left with some questions. For example, shouldn't the people of the country ask why poverty, hunger, unemployment and inflation have increased to levels unprecedented in the 75 years history of India, during the last 10 years of the Amrit Kaal of BJP's Vishwa Guru Narendra Modi, who has planted the toxic weeds of hatred and division from Nooh in Haryana to Manipur? Why has the people's livelihood issues been ignored and a frenzy has been created in the name of Ram Temple in the entire country? The public has the right to know that when the common working people of the country were dying like insects on the streets without any relief during the Corona period, and were getting ruined, then how did the coffers of corporates like Adani Ambani keep overflowing? Why does the BJP government, which talks about the welfare of farmers, youth and women, treat the farmers, laborers, dalits, tribals, students, women and minorities, especially the Muslims, who are struggling on the issues of food, clothing and shelter, as enemies of the entire country? Why does the BJP spread the drug of pseudo-nationalism and put people of the democratic movement in jail by falsely accusing them of treason? In the entire country, three out of four people do not get enough food. In the matter of freedom of expression and safety of journalists, India ranks last in the world, why is it so? But in response to all these questions, on one hand BJP is busy in creating frenzy in the name of Ram Temple/ Krishna Janmbhumi and on the other hand it is busy trampling human rights, Constitution, reservation rights, secularism etc.

Overall, the values inherited from the heritage of the freedom struggle are on the brink of extinction and the common people of the country are groaning under the rule of those who served as the lackeys and stooges of the British imperialism in the history.

In such a suffocatingly a crude situation, let us all come together and raise our voice for a better future, in favor of democracy, peace, constitution, reservation and secularism, against religious fanaticism, chauvinism, hatred and division. We once again pay tribute to martyrs and remembering the common heritage of martyrdom of Shahid Bhagat Singh ,Ashfaqullah and Bismil.Let us gear up to uproot the Sanghi Manuwadi fascist forces, the stalwarts of the corporate houses and the enemies of the common people. We appeal to all of you to come together on 10th March for this very purpose, cooperate wholeheartedly to make the All India Anti-Fascist People’s Convention organized in Nagpur a success.

New Delhi,22 nd January 2024. CAM observed today as Anti Manuvadi/ Bramhanvadi Fascist Day all over India countering the madness around the inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

The ideological basis of Indian fascism, led by the world's largest and longest-running fascist organization RSS, is based on inhuman Manusmriti.RSS advocates a Hindurashtra based on manuvadi caste system that dehumanizes India's vast majority of working people and women.

RSS has effectively used Hinduism to polarize the majority of Indian politics and society to achieve its fascist agenda of Hindu Rashtra, to isolate, stigmatize and deny citizenship to Muslims. Apart from that Dalits, tribals, women and minorities are facing unprecedented oppression under RSS neofascism.

Using caste-Hindutva and its political tool, the BJP, the RSS has already established its grip on state power and street power in India and penetrated the macro and micro spheres of society.

It is in this context that the Indian government, including the Prime Minister, is taking action to inaugurate the Ram Temple, which was built on the site after the centuries-old Babri Masjid was demolished at the cost of unpricidented poverty,hunger, unemployment and price rise in 75 years of country.

Constitutionally, India is a secular country. It therefore stipulates that the people should be free to believe in any religion and not in any religion and that the state should be completely secular.

By subverting this constitutional principle
Sanghi Manuwadi Fascist forces are trying to turn our country into a Hindu Rashtra for the sake of Adani Ambani like crony capitalists through the inauguration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January 2024.

Hence the Caste Annihilation Movement observes January 22 as "Anti Manuvadi Anti-Fascist Day".CAM is committed for a casteless, secular, egalitarian exploitation free society based on gender equality and scientific temperament .And CAM will continue its fight against RSS Manuvadi Bramhanvadi Fascist Forces along with the like minded forces .

3rd January is the birth anniversary of Savitri Bai Phule, who took the first initiative for women's education in India. With the efforts of her and her husband and teacher Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, the first school for girls was opened in Pune on 1 January 1848. In this effort, Savitri Bai and Fatima Sheikh helped. Despite facing the oppression and strong opposition of the Brahminist Manuwadi society, Savitribai Phule dedicated her entire life to the cause of women's education, arrangement of shelter homes for the victims of atrocities of the Brahmin male-dominated society and opposition to the inhuman caste system. Instead of celebrating the birthday of Sanatan Panthi Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on September 5 th as Teachers day,we comrades associated with the caste annihilation movement, observing the birthday of Savitribai Phule, the pioneer of renaissance, women's liberation and women's education, on January 3 as Teachers' Day, our appeal is made to the public to observe Let's do it. साथियों,3जनवरी को भारत मे नारी शिक्षा के लिए सर्वप्रथम पहल करने वाली सावित्री बाई फुले की जयंती है।उनने और उनके पति और शिक्षक महात्मा ज्योतिबा फुले के प्रयासों से 1जनवरी1848 को पूना में लड़कियों के लिए पहला स्कूल खोला गया।इस प्रयास में सावित्री बाई को फातिमा शेख ने मदद की।सावित्रीबाई फुले ने ब्राम्हणवादी मनुवादी समाज की प्रताड़ना और प्रबल विरोध झेलकर भी स्त्री शिक्षा, ब्राम्हणी पुरुषप्रधान समाज के अत्याचार की शिकार महिलाओ के लिए आश्रयगृह की व्यवस्था तथा हिंसक जातिव्यवस्था के विरोध में अपना पूरा जीवन अर्पित कर दिया।हम जातिउन्मूलन आंदोलन से जुड़े साथी,सनातन पंथी सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन के जन्मदिवस 5 सितंबर को शिक्षक दिवस के रूप में न मनाकर, नवजागरण की पुरोधा ,नारीमुक्ति और नारी शिक्षा की अग्रदूत सावित्रीबाई फुले के जन्मदिन 3 जनवरी को शिक्षक दिवस के रूप में मनाने का जनता से आह्वान करते हैं।आज की तारीख में पूरे देश में संघी कॉरपोरेट फॉसिस्टों के मनुवादी आक्रमण का मुकाबला करने के लिए भी यह जरूरी है।

Coimbatore,17 th December 2023. Fifth All India conference of Caste Annihilation Movement (CAM) is successfully held at Comrade Doraiswami Nagar( Annamalai Hall),Coimbatore Tamil Nadu on 16-17 December . Delegates from 10 states participated in the conference. CAM All India conference organised in Tamil Nadu,the land of great renaissance pioneer E V Ramaswami Periyar against caste system and bramhanvadi/ manuvadi religious fanaticism .An action plan to overthrow the Manuvadi/ Bramhanvadi Hindutva ideological base of RSS and accelerate the inhuman caste system chalked out in the conference.

In the conference delegates said that in 1936, when the Jat Patt Todak Mandal of Lahore first invited Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar, he sent his speech exposing the inhuman essence caste and his approach to caste annihilation in advance following which the organisers denied their invitation to Dr. Ambedkar. Then Baba Saheb decided to print his written speech in a booklet form in the name of "Caste Annihilation".
In "Caste Annihilation" Ambedkar took the revealing position that India cannot become a democratic society without uprooting the inhuman caste system. For this he had asked the Indian people to fight two enemies - one is Brahminism and the other is Capitalism. Along with Ambedkar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh also stood for abolition of capitalism along with overthrowing British Empire.

Today, we see that Brahminism, the ideological basis of fascist RSS, has taken the form of Manuwadi Hindutva merging itself with the most corrupt corrupt corporate capital, led by Adani, Ambani and the like. The true mission of RSS Manuvadi Fascism is to serve corporate-crony capitalism, which is the true essence of 'Modinomics'. Baba Saheb Ambedkar has already said that the establishment of Hindu Rashtra will be most tragic and dark period for India .

Since the ascendance of Modi government in mid-2014, the RSS, world's longest-running and largest fascist organization, has been engaged in a systematic offensive towards transforming India into a Hindu Rashtra whose ideological basis is Manusmriti.

*At this critical juncture, upholding the path of the pioneers of Indian renaissance movement that resolutely fought against the brahmanical caste system and for the liberation of the exploited and oppressed masses, the 5th All India Conference of Caste Annihilation Movement (CAM) is successfully held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 16-17 December 2023.* We call upon all the anti-caste, secular, democratic and progressive people to wholeheartedly support the Caste Annihilation Movement and the struggle for gender equality as an part and parcel of class struggle. We appeal to all of them to resolutely come forward against the Brahminical, Manuvadi fascism of the patriarchal RSS and solidly fighting forward for building up a true democratic India upholding he dreams of Savitri Bai Phule, Fatima Sheikh, Guru Ghasidas, Jyotiba Phule, Periyar, Ayankali, Narayan Guru, Babasaheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. We once again appeal to make the All India Conference of CAM a success and thereby carrying forward the ideals of CAM, for the establishment of a casteless secular democratic society.
