In homoeopathy to find the right medicines, three things are important:

3. APPLICATION: Application of these laws, to match the symptoms of the disease with the symptoms of the medicine(knowledge of the medicine) is the step where most of the failures happen. This step requires the homoeopath to have faith upon the laws, have the flexibility and understanding to apply them.

In homoeopathy, the symptoms guide in finding the right medicine. The name of the disease and the common symptoms are secondary. The PECULIAR symptoms are those symptoms that are not found commonly or are unrelated to the disease/pathology.
