Can anyone change the color of this chest to a pretty green?

Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself and share a photo I took of the house we love. Completed in 1917 by my husband’s grandfather as the second house on a farm established in 1880s, and lived in by his dad and mom, and now us, we love it to bits. We live in Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada

Trying to decide on a backsplash for our new kitchen. Any great ideas? Husband says no white subway tile. We like the idea of blue, white, or green colors.

My charming 1910 bungalow that’s been sliced and diced more times than Anyone knows and original windows that cost me $500+ in electricity in the summers.
But she’s ours and we love the charm.
Enjoy some before and afters while you trail to the last pictures of the kitchen! My bathroom and kitchen are the last to be done and I’m drawing an absolute blank. I need a pantry, but then there’s a lot of empty wall space. These old houses are tricky but I want to keep the original cabinets with it!

Just peeled up the floor to reveal this gem! Looking for inspiration on wallpaper and updating the vanity/mirror.

In the middle of remodeling the guest bath and wondering the best way to prime and paint these partial laminate cabinets. Help!
**EDIT** We have decided to get a new vanity all together but thank you for all your suggestions and expertise on painting laminate. It’s just more work than we want to put into it right now that may or may not work or even last.

The curiousity in me wants to find out what’s behind the door, but the horror movie fan in me says “not a chance!”

What do I put on the sides of my tv stand? I used to have a lamp to the right but I hated it/sold it! Bench is there to easily put on shoes but I can get anything else!! All ideas please!! The room is white with a large window, and a dark green wall to the right.

450 SF cottage made from an old shed! I did this several years ago and House beautiful magazine did an article about it on there online magazine! When the she shed thing started, I was so proud of her!

Photos are of our very crowded living room. Apartment is just under 1000 feet and includes, two bedrooms, one bath, a galley kitchen and a living room, which we have divided into parlor and office. Three adults, a dog, a cat, and two budgies live here. It's comfortable and I love it.

Hi everyone. Hoping someone can help…. I recently had some windows replaced in my 1856 home. The windows were nothing fancy. Just literally falling apart. This window in my front room (where my office is) is at least 8’ tall. I slide the top part down as I don’t want the dogs or cats messing with the screen or trying to get out at another animal. I can’t reach the top and it’s a pain to use a stool. Has anyone found a tool to grab up there and slide the window down then close it?

What can I do to create privacy for my front door ? Unfortunately getting a new door isn’t an option right now. I was thinking about getting privacy window film but I don’t think I can cut it to fit the glass shape.

Just sanded down and sealed our original Birdseye maple in our 1840s house . We love how they came out !
