It is sad to see that due to lack of awareness a therapist doesn't take a persons disability into account, going as far as to completely disregard it. As @anxietybuds so bravely shared with us, not taking a persons disability into account can sometimes make matters worse instead of better. Thus overlooking the concerns of the patient and neglecting them of proper therapy. But where there is bad there is good and it's important to remember that there ARE therapists who are disability affirmative, sex positive, trauma informed and queer affirmative who will help us. Swedish developer Victor Widell decided to make a simulation highlighting what reading with dyslexia looks like. He writes on his blog: ‘A friend who has dyslexia described to me how she experiences reading. She can read, but it takes a lot of concentration and the letters seem to “jump around”’ Using javascript, Widell developed a stimulation that randomizes letters and syntax.
