Our parents shape our beliefs and ideas significantly. But it is up to us to unlearn and re-learn when equipped with worldly wisdom as we grow up. Let's break the toxic patterns and keep the good ones.

07/11/2022

Our society largely condemns men for tears, for expression of their feelings, from a very young age, making them feel like their emotions are a weakness. This Men’s Mental Health Week, we want to take a step towards erasing that stigma. It’s okay to cry, regardless of your gender. It’s necessary to express your emotions as you feel them because they are valid. Suppression and stifling of emotions only contribute to men venting their frustration in ways that harm them in the long run, so let’s all take part in stopping that cycle, now. The next time you see another man struggling, let him vent. Let him give in to expression. Let him be human.

Permissive parenting may not be the mythical fantasy that we think it is. On the contrary, it
could lead to several problems; therefore, it is important to recognize the signs and improve
areas in your parenting which require attention. Better late than never!

Photos from Yellow Club's post 07/10/2022

Attachment parenting focuses on a secure, trusting relationship between the parent and the
child which later serves to be the basis for the growth of secure and independent adults.
Although few principles of attachment parenting are controversial, there are few others which
are worth noting and here is your little guide to attachment parenting. Swipe right ahead!

The typical “desi-parent” is often called authoritarian but why so? Is it because of the rules
and endless curfews or are there other factors involved? Swipe to find out!

Hello all parents and caregivers! 👩‍👩‍👦‍👦

Are you looking forward to learn about inclusive, respectful, and sustainable parenting approaches and techniques ?

THIS IS FOR YOU!!!

We understand that becoming parents doesn't necessarily equip us with the right resources and knowledge to sail through.
This often leads to severe compromises on parenting approaches, which results in repeated behavioural patterns across generations that could have been corrected.

In today's world, with advancements in child development studies, we now KNOW that with the right evidence-based approach, you can create almost any desired behaviour in a child that would help them to be a better person.

This workshop would be an all-activity-based introductory, interactive session with the parenting coach Sumayya Thayath () to learn the hack. She will be dealing with the topics :

1.*Positive parenting - How to bring in a positive behavioural change in your child/children*

2.*Breaking traditional parenting patterns and myth*

An amusing performance by artiste Pooja Mohanraj has also been planned for the evening.

Come join us for an insightful and entertaining evening 🥳
*Together let's help in building a gentler and kinder future generations*🌻

These might sound like really normal day - to - day life instances but they are the best situations to make meaningful conversations and understand your child better.

Making small talks around at these situations and most importantly listening to them can do wonders.

S*x ed is a very sensitive topic to many and should be appropriately discussed. But not at all the discussing the concept isn’t right. But the generational stigma that is attached to the words “S*x Ed”, makes it impossible to discuss. Slowly breaking this stigma is extremely necessary in order to make the society more aware.🌻

Mental health in an unequal world, but still there exists a stigma around reporting poor mental health, which is why patients are not supported and aren’t able to receive treatment. Education for destigmatizing mental health disorders is certainly the need of the hour. yellow club believes that mental health matters for all genders, castes, classes, and therefore we take a step forward to acknowledge and explore issues regarding society’s deep-rooted prejudice towards such stigmatized minority groups.🌻

Today being Doctor's day, we would like to take a moment to celebrate and thank doctors worldwide. The last few years have been especially difficult. The onset of the pandemic, has affected the workers in the medical industry tremendously, with doctors playing a major role.

According to a 2015 Medical Protection Survey in the U.K., around 85% of doctors have faced mental health issues. Factors that contribute to their stress include staff shortages, abuse and aggression from patients, inadequate facilities, and lack of management support. Despite being underappreciated and attacked by society sometimes, doctors continue to work tirelessly for their well-being. We feel truly sorry for every unpleasant experience they have faced and we are grateful for their contribution to a better society.

On this doctor's day, we request doctors and medical students worldwide to take some time off to solely focus on their mental well-being.

Over the years we've had misrepresented and underrepresented q***r characters in Indian cinema. Most of our nostalgic movies had q***r characters stereotyped in the garb of humour. Even now, some q***r characters are depicted through a cis lens. What are some of such LGBTQIA+ tropes that you find in cinema? Let us know in the comment section below🌻

What matters most is how you walk through the fire , how you leave behind forces that pull you back , when you don’t
crumble. when you refuse
to break.

There are moments which mark your life , moments you realise , nothing will ever be the same , but make sure you will only to live , not just survive. You are brave enough to come out of it , over and over again🌻

Body shaming and beauty standards is a hard situation for women and most people know that. But do you know that it's a hard situation for men as well? Prolly not. Because that's how silence there is on the issue. The stigma around mental health also causes men to not speak up about their insecurities and situations they face due to not having achieved that 'perfect body' Eventually, this leads to serious mental and physical
health complications, which if go unnoticed or unchecked can become lethal. So, it's high time we shatter these so-called 'perfect body' standards for every gender out there and put priority on body individuality🌻

Why are pronouns important?
Many among us view the usage of gender pronouns as an attack of our freedom of speech or an intent to tarnish our conversations or even a decision to cause trouble in our society! But the truth is, for years non-binary people have felt alienated in using the two recognised pronouns that were based on a person's gender, which made them feel as if their lives don't have a relevance in this society.
So, it's upto us to make sure our actions don't advertently or inadvertently cause hurt to non-binary people Let's make sure we use pronouns right🌻
