Nitya Yoga Anushasanam
This page shares my blogs on yoga, asana practice pictures and class details.
This morning my niece reminded me that it has been exactly a month since some of us saw my mother alive in person! We had gotten together because it was my niece’s birthday and also my younger sister’s day to return to her home in Canada.
I spoke to mom again via video call two days before she passed, but I never imagined that I’m done seeing her alive for the last time. Today I returned to her house because I still vote in this constituency, and it broke my heart so badly that she was not here. There is no solace to this feeling. It’s like a giant void inside.
But I try to reason that she lived well and that she did everything she wanted. I reason that I shared all my shining moments with her.
It still isn’t enough. I wish I could have said bye one last time. I wish I could have hugged her when she was alive and told her how much I loved her and how much she meant to me.
🤷🏽♀️
PS: I did hug her a lot. We have some great memories and they will have today from now.
Ya is a very sweet cat who is looking for a forever home. Please reach out to the number mentioned in the post to adopt this loving purrfect boy.
Hello there!
Appeal for monetary help towards Bhairav’s treatment:
So, as some of you already know, Bhairav is going through a very difficult phase in his life. Starting October last year he went through a splenectomy due to a mass on it. Immediately after, he contracted tick fever which lead him to have Immune mediated Hemolytic anemia and Thrombocytopenia. This means that his Hemoglobin and platelets never stay stable. He has been on high dose steroids since November. He has had two blood transfusions.
We have to take him for blood tests every day some weeks and every three days when he shows some improvement.
While he is a fighter and shows much will to do better, we are not doing so great with all his expenses. His immunosuppressants and medication alone costs more than 20k a month. The blood test every day don’t come cheap either. I have spent nearly 3 lakhs on his treatment so far and I am emotionally and financially depleted.
So here is me asking again for help to keep his treatment going.
Whoever has it in your heart to help, please DM me. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I read this post about how we should do all activities in life like we go to the super market. No expectations, no worries, nothing except being present and mindful.
This is easier said that done but my Yoga journey has taught me a lot more than asana practice. It has helped be become more accepting, present, and mindful. It has helped me seek answers and be inquisitive about my spiritual journey.
Come and practice yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation with me and take an expedition to find out who you are.
Today, I stumbled upon a wallet that my mother brought back from Singapore in the early 90s. (Yes, I that old)
I found some real treasure stored away in the little sections of this wallet.
In the collage from top left- The wallet, my PUC hall ticket and admission slip, 1₹ and 2₹ notes that are not in print anymore, a tiny little love note from my sister , the most epic picture of mine from childhood where I have the most epic resting b* #$h face expression, my maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather, my 2 wheeler learners license that never got converted to a DL, and a 20 paise coin!
It has been such a nostalgic morning, finding this wallet tucked away in some corner of my closet. Happy Sunday and to all those who are mothers in any shape and form.
I read a quote somewhere that said- ‘The yoga post that you avoid the most is the yoga pose that you need the most’.
I do not believe that asana practice should be so prescriptive. Yoga is for all body types but it should be done with compassion towards oneself. While we should all test the waters and push ourselves to do our best, there is no need to exert oneself to prove that one can do ‘yoga’. Because, yoga is not done. It is practiced in all aspects of our life. The scriptural and theoretical aspects of yoga are just as applicable and beneficial to our life as the postural practice.
To me, yoga is about finding stillness in movement. Come join me and find your well-being.
Happy birthday my heart ❤️! Words won’t suffice to tell you how much we love you. I hope the cake and the outing come close. Love you for every and infinity and beyond and all of that and more. You are the goodest boi ever.
Striving for equanimity. Letting the ego go…
Be kind, love more, practice yoga!
