Trained in hair and make-up from Tony & Guy (Singapore and London), MUD (New York), Aveda (Chicago) and London School of Beauty, UK. 23 years ago, Annie Appu followed her dream by starting her own beauty salon in her garage with 2 assistants and plenty of optimism. She had studied hair and make-up from various academies in India and around the world. She even schooled over 50 students at her salon
, many of whom now run their independent businesses. Fiercely she marched on, exuding warmth, hospitality and charm to every client. It was a ‘dream come true’ when Annie’s daughter, Anita expressed interest in partnering with her. Five years ago Anita joined forces and has infused new dimension into Annie’s Beauty Salon. Anita (aka Anu) has extensive training in hair and make-up from Tony & Guy (Singapore and London), MUD (New York), Aveda (Chicago) and London School of Beauty and Make-up. Anita’s makeup is flawless - it leaves you believing that she has magical powersJ. Her artistic and creative approach to her work is evident in her innovative haircuts and coloring techniques . Anita’s effervescent personality is contagious as is evident by her many happy clients. They always enjoy their visit, leaving with beautiful hair and a smile on their face. Annie attributes all her success to her team of tenured employees. Almost all of her staff has been with her for over 15 years. She has always said that it is truly their hard work, dedication and time that has made this place successful. Last but not least is the unsung hero is this story….Annie’s husband - Appu who has always supported and encouraged her. Appu has been the crux of this business, making sure all the "i's" are dotted and the "t's" crossed .
