ಅರ್ಧ ಶತಮಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ, 1960ರ ದಶಕದ ಅಂತ್ಯದಿಂದ 2020ರವರೆಗೆ, ಈ ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗಳವನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಸನ್ಮುಖದಿಂದ ಬೆಳಗಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಿ.ಟಿ.ಆರ್ ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಚಲ ನಿಷ್ಠೆಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ಒಂದು ಪುಟವಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದುವೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಕ್ಯಾಷಿಯರ್ ಶ್ರೀ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರದ್ದು. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ವಹಿವಾಟಿನಲ್ಲೂ, ಕೇವಲ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಹಾಕಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಸಂಬಂಧಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಹಲವಾರು ಗ್ರಾಹಕರನ್ನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ನಮ್ಮ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್, ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಸಣ್ಣ ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಗ್ರಾಹಕರ ಕಷ್ಟ ಸುಖದ ಭಾಗಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ 55ಕ್ಕಿಂತಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಸೋಮಶೇಖರ್ ಅವರು ನಮಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದಷ್ಟು ಗಂಟೆಗಳಿಗೆ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿಷ್ಠೆಗೆ ನಾವು ಸದಾ ಆಭಾರಿ.

Remembering a lifetime of dedication: Our beloved employee, Mr. Somashekar!
For over half a century, from the late 1960s until 2020, one man consistently illuminated our desk and customers with his warm smile. In the tapestry of CTR's history, if there is one thread that stands out as an evidence to unwavering loyalty, it is that of our cherished cashier, Mr Somashekar's. With every transaction, he didn't just tally numbers but built relationships. He recognised young kids who grew up into loyal patrons of CTR, and shared in the joys and sorrows of countless customers. As we reflect on these precious 55+ years, we can't help but be filled with gratitude for the countless hours, the smiles, and the tireless commitment he offered to us.
Mr. Somashekar wasn't just a cashier…he was the heart and soul of family. His legacy continues to live on in the warm memories we hold close to our hearts.

ಶಾಲೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರುತಿ ಬದ್ಧವಾಗಿ "ಜಯ ಭಾರತ ಜನನಿಯ ತನುಜಾತೆ" ಹಾಡಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶುರುವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ ಆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂಭ್ರಮ ಇಂದಿಗು ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಚ್ಚೆಳೆದಿದೆ. ಶಾಲೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಳಿಯ ಸಮವಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೊಟ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಧ್ವಜಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಸಲಾಮ್ ಹಾಕಿ, "ಜೈ ಹಿಂದ್" ಎಂದು ಗಂಟಲಾಳದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿದರೆ ರೋಮ ರೋಮದಲ್ಲು ದೇಶಭಕ್ತಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ದೇಷ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಡುವ ಮುನ್ನ ಮೇಷ್ಟ್ರು ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆ ತುಪ್ಪ ಭರಿತ ಮೈಸೂರ್ ಪಾಕ್ ಅಥವ ಲಾಡುವಿನ ಸುವಾಸನೆ ಮರೆಯಲಾರೆವು.

How eagerly we awaited the arrival of Independence Day back in those days! As the sun rose on that special morning, we gathered on our school grounds to sing the soul stirring songs, “Vande Mataram” and “Jaya Bharata Jananiya”, that we rehearsed for weeks. After the ceremonies, our eyes gleamed with joy as we lined up to receive the mouth watering sweets from our favourite teachers. When the school bell finally rang, we ran home with the little flags that our school gave us, and planted it proudly at our favourite spots at home to flaunt our love for the nation.

Let us continue to stand tall, upholding the values that make our nation incredible. Happy ! 🫡

It is a historic and proud moment for India to win two Oscars. We would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to M.M. Keeravani, Chandrabose, and the entire RRR team for their outstanding achievement in winning the 'Best Original Song' at the Oscar Awards. Additionally, we are thrilled to see 'The Elephant Whisperers' win the 'Best Short Documentary' award. We would like to congratulate Guneet Monga and Karthiki Gonsalves for their excellent work in creating a thought-provoking documentary that has made us all proud.

India has shown its incredible talent and creativity to the world, and we hope to see more such victories in the future.

One can almost taste the celebration of Holi when March arrives. Small shops decorate the streets selling water balloons, gifts, holi colors, & of course, those fancy water guns. The entire neighborhood starts living in a delightful state of small fear about being attacked by the notorious kids who might be hiding behind walls and staircases carrying water balloons along with them. One can smell the aroma of colors emanating from everywhere. Playing Holi is something one can remember for a long time, as the colours leave a mark in our memories as well. Shri Sagar CTR wishes you all a vibrant and memorable Holi!

Bengaluru is a city built by the contributions of great leaders, visionaries and selfless personalities. One such story is that of R. Kalyanamma, the remarkable woman who founded Makkala Koota and worked for the welfare of women and children. Despite suffering from child marriage and not having a formal education, Kalyanamma had a passion for reading and fought against societal norms to advance society. She founded Saraswathi, a monthly publication that featured articles on women's health, politics, and social issues, and Makkala Bavuta, a section dedicated to inspiring children's interest in literature. Kalyanamma was elected as the first woman vice president of Bangalore City Corporation (now Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike) in 1938 and used her positions of authority to advance the rights of women and children. Today, she stands as a source of tremendous inspiration, empowering every woman to follow in her remarkable footsteps.

ಹಳೆಯ ನೆನಪೊಂದನ್ನು ಮೆಲಕು ಹಾಕುವಾಗ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಕಳೆದು ಹೋದ ಕಾಲದ ಅಲೆಯೊಂದು ಬಂದು ಬಡಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೀವಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಮಧುರ ಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿನ ಬುಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲ, ಹೃದಯದ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ರೆಕ್ಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಬಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಿ ಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲ, ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಗೆಲುವಿನಲ್ಲೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಖುಷಿಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲ. ಅಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಸವಿನೆನಪಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ಭಾವವಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಆ ಭಾವದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ, ಆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಹಿಂದೆ ಒಂದು ಕಥೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಒಂದಾನೊಂದು ಕಾಲದ ನವಿರಾದ ಕಥೆ, 'ಓಲ್ಡ್ ಟೌನ್ ಒಲವು', ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 26 ರಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ.

Back when freezing special moments in a frame was precious, love was a language that crafted magical poetry weaved into timeless memories. 'Old Town Olavu' is a revisit to one such timeless story, set to release on the 26th of February.

The passing of veteran Kannada director, S K Bhagavan, has left us heartbroken. In 1956, as the world of colour in film was opening up, blockbuster movies like Kasturi Nivasa, Eradu Kanasu, and Bayalu Daari were released under his mesmerising direction along with the late Dorairaj. He popularised spy movies in Indian cinema through hits like Jedara Bale, Goa Dalli CID 999, and Operation Diamond Rocket. His accomplishment of producing 49 films along with Dorairaj has helped Kannada films reach great heights. Dr. Bhagwan, who directed the legendary Dr. Rajkumar in 32 films, will always be remembered for his dedication and contribution to the world of cinema. Bhagavan sir, you shall remain in the hearts of every Kannadiga as Dorai (King) of super hit directors.
