At present we care for 55 women, all between the ages of 75-100 years.
“Ashraya” is a Non-Governmental organization established in the year 2005, to provide shelter and care to aged women who were either abandoned or could not be cared for by their kith and kin for various reasons.
Our Chairman Mrs. Rani Thammaiah was felicitated by Vasavi Club International on the occasion of women's day.
Satyanarayana Pooja was organised on the 24th of Jan. In the Thalaghatapura branch. The Pooja was sponsored by Mr. Harish Shenoy on the occasion of his son "Mr. Roshan Shenoy's" Birthday.
Members of the Sai Samithi Domlur Seva Dal Bangalore Cental District arranged a Sai Bhajan along with the interactions with the elderly on 24th of July.

The report by the Agewell Foundation, based on responses from 5,000 elderly, released ahead of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day said 82 % of the respondents claimed that their life has been affected adversely due to the current COVID-19 situation. We at Ashraya are housing more than 100 underprivileged and disadvantaged senior citizens. We are also working very hard in keeping them healthy and safe especially in the current situation. AS SOON AS YOU FEEL UNWELL👇
Stay calm. Remember that most people recover from and do not require hospitalization.
1⃣Self-isolate. Do not wait to get tested or receive results.
2⃣Check your oxygen levels every 6 hours or more frequently if your breaths are too fast. Check it once and then again after a six-minute walk.
📍 Seek emergency care if oxygen level on the oximeter shows less than 94%.
3⃣Monitor your temperature every 6 hours. Do it more frequently if you have a fever.
📍 Seek emergency care if fever of more than 101F (38C) persists for 3 days.
4⃣Seek emergency medical care in any of these cases:
📍 Shortness of breath worsens
📍 Lips or face turn blue-ish
📍 Feeling of disorientation increases
📍 Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
📍 Slurred speech / seizures
📍 Unable to wake up or stay awake
