At present we care for 55 women, all between the ages of 75-100 years.

“Ashraya” is a Non-Governmental organization established in the year 2005, to provide shelter and care to aged women who were either abandoned or could not be cared for by their kith and kin for various reasons.

About 73% elderly experienced increased abuse during lockdown imposed amid 2nd wave of Covid: report 14/06/2021

The report by the Agewell Foundation, based on responses from 5,000 elderly, released ahead of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day said 82 % of the respondents claimed that their life has been affected adversely due to the current COVID-19 situation. AS SOON AS YOU FEEL UNWELL👇

Stay calm. Remember that most people recover from and do not require hospitalization.

1⃣Self-isolate. Do not wait to get tested or receive results.

2⃣Check your oxygen levels every 6 hours or more frequently if your breaths are too fast. Check it once and then again after a six-minute walk.
📍 Seek emergency care if oxygen level on the oximeter shows less than 94%.

3⃣Monitor your temperature every 6 hours. Do it more frequently if you have a fever.
📍 Seek emergency care if fever of more than 101F (38C) persists for 3 days.

4⃣Seek emergency medical care in any of these cases:
📍 Shortness of breath worsens
📍 Lips or face turn blue-ish
📍 Feeling of disorientation increases
📍 Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
📍 Slurred speech / seizures
📍 Unable to wake up or stay awake
