Yoga is about exploring ones mind and body in a way that this creation has made us. There is no influence of anyone but just yourself in a raw and purest way.

Beautiful yogis in the class today and how each one dedicated to this exploration.

We have not lost our values yet , our culture is alive, our traditions are alive, we have kept them alive but they are suffering , they are bleeding and dying slowly, we need to do our best keep them alive in a way they really should be, not just as a formality to do , not just to achieve our selfish agendas but in a really manner. We are also suffering from our own weaknesses that reside in us. We are suffering from the Ravana within. The ten heads of Raavan represent K**a (Lust), Krodha (Anger), Moha (Delusion), Lobha (Greed), Mada (Pride), Matsar (Envy), Manas (The mind), Buddhi (Intellect), Chitta (Will) and Ahamkara (The Ego). This is the time to introspect and kill the Ravan (evil) within. A very Happy Dassehra to you.

Rightly said “धर्मो रक्षति राखितः” “Dharmo Rakshati Raksh*tah” means if you protect Dharma, then Dharma will protect you.
Dharma or Cosmic principles or eternal principles that upholds life in this universe.

Meditation activates our bodies’ “rest-and-digest” functions, which counteracts our “flight-or-fight” responses. Integrating the practice into a daily routine has been linked to lower heart rate and blood pressure, which lowers risk of heart disease.

Happy World Heart Day!

It's not about falling asleep, hanging around, or waiting for the next movement as we halt in these poses. The pause is intended to help us become more aware of our bodies and the current situation. We see how our breath moves through our limbs, how our hearts beat, and how our bodies and minds develop and evolve.

We receive an emotional release from the day, our stress or concerns, challenging relationships, and a variety of other daily events when we do this.

When we go onto our mat, we are often forced into periods of silence, but we don't always allow our bodies and brains to fully obey, still reverting to those pesky thoughts and concerns. Not only do we all have room to improve on the mat, but we also need to apply what we've learned in class to our everyday lives.

Begin with a five-minute period of focused inactivity. Perhaps you could set your alarm five minutes earlier each day and spend some time in meditation or prayer.

Whatever you do, keep in mind that your mind will always try to rebel - but with experience, you may learn to calm it down.

Prasarita Padottanasana D (Wide Legged Forward Bend)

is the fourth of four positions of this wide-legged forward fold, which involve four different expressions of the arms, although the base of the pose and the posture of the spine remain the same throughout the expressions of the asana. From Sanskrit, prasarita means “expanded,” “stretched out" or "spread.” For padottanasana, pada means “feet” and uttana means "intense stretch."

To enter into prasarita padottanasana D, one stands with feet spread wide apart, grounded firmly, and hands on hips. Inhale fully and exhale, tilting the hips and pelvis forward with a flat spine, moving the head towards the floor and bringing the hands down to the floor to grasp the feet with fingers sliding under the edges. On the inhale, look forward and press the chest down toward the ground while lifting the hips to allow for more stretch. On the exhale, the shoulders should remain active, pulling down while holding the feet with elbows lifted and pointed toward the sky. The head is pressed toward the floor. In the fullest expression of this pose, the crown of the head touches the floor.

Beginners tips
* It is important to keep your back elongated and the front of your body open. If you feel at any point that you start to round your back as you are lowering further down, come back a little.
* Integrity and respect for your body’s boundaries are more important than how far you come into the pose.

Happiest moment is when people find positive outcomes from yoga. This cements the fact that practising yoga under supervision of a teacher is greatly important. It’s not about me, select any teacher but never ever practice yoga alone. Deeply humbled by the kind words I hope everyone gets a lovely student like yourself ❤️🥰

Virabhadrasana III (Warrior Pose III) requires concentration and stamina to maintain a thoughtful calibration between push and pull—gathering energy in, and extending it out. Focus on contracting, pulling in, and connecting with gravity, says Bender Birch. But don’t contract too much; if you hang on too tightly, you will lose expansion—and likely your balance, too. Alternate between expansion and contraction, and treat both with equal importance. Join me online for authentic yoga immersion. Explore wide range of classes that suits your needs

The significance of Ganesh is that he is supposed to remove all obstacles. This does not mean that he is going to come and take away all your obstacles. Ganesh has a big head. They removed his small head and put a big head on him. He is supposed to be super-intelligent and also super-balanced. That is what Ganesh represents: if you have a sharp and balanced intelligence, then there are no obstacles in your life. HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI 🙏

Translation: "I have explained to you this knowledge that is more secret than all secrets. Ponder over it deeply, and then do as you wish"

This must be the ultimate expression of freedom and inclusivity. Why do I say? All the knowledge was imparted and in the end there is always an option for everyone to think and ponder before accepting or rejecting it. This is the freedom everyone truly deserves.

Happy International Yoga Day

This skeleton is of a man around 40 years of age, unearthed in Rajasthan. He's estimated to have lived 2700-3000 years ago by carbon dating. He is unmistakably in padmasana and has most probably buried attaining Samadhi as a Yogi. This puts the birth of Yoga to be more than 2700 years ago in India. It is probably much older, dating back to 4000 years ago. But this is a great scientific evidence of Yoga's antiquity.

Book Review: Yoga Mythology by Devdutt Pattanaik Yoga has a history that dates back to over 5000 years old and naturally has an influence on the religions that evolved after that. Devdutt Pattanaik explains elaborately some interesting stories about the connection of religion with the science of yoga.

Ayurveda provides a framework for how to sync the mind and body up to the rhythm of nature. When we are in tune and in the flow with the cosmos then energy is steady, digestion is strong and the mind is clear. Life becomes easier because we are swimming with the current - not against it.

Have you noticed any of these energies in your daily life? It can be overwhelming to think about switching your routine up. Habits are hard to break! The invitation is to begin noticing how the energy of each dosha affects your mind and body at certain times of the day. Perhaps start by slowly retiring to bed a little bit earlier each week over a few weeks, or have a slightly larger lunch than dinner. It is encouraged to make small changes and adjust habits over time!
