Keloids are a type of raised scar. They occur where the skin has healed after an injury. They can grow to be much larger than the original injury that caused the scar. They are not at all common, but are more likely for people who have dark skin.

Anything that can cause a scar can cause a keloid. This includes being burned, cut, or having severe acne. Keloids can also develop after you get a body piercing, a tattoo, or have surgery. Keloids sometimes show up 3 months or more after your skin is injured. Some continue to grow for years.

What happens after a hair transplant?

Your scalp may be sore, and you may need to take medications following hair transplant surgery, such as:

1. Pain medication
2. Antibiotics to reduce your risk of infection
3. Anti-inflammatory medications to keep swelling down

Most people can return to work several days after surgery.

Post steroid withdrawal
This particular patient had developed melasma (hyperpigmentation) post pregnancy for which she applied steroidal creams over a course of few month.
The patient developed redness, irritation, thickening of the skin and itching.

With long-term use of topical steroid the skin may develop permanent stretch marks (striae), bruising, discolouration, or thin spidery blood vessels (telangiectasias). Topical steroids may trigger or worsen other skin disorders such as acne, rosacea and perioral dermatitis.

The patient was slowly taken off the topical steroids and was put on a skin care regimen including a sunscreen over a course of few weeks and slowly got her original skin tone back.
