Understanding Retinol the antiaging superhero!!

An easy metaphor to know the concentration and thereby the strength of retinol you are using, is our everyday coffee choice!
Cappuccino, the mildest of coffees is retinol equivalent, has just one shot of expresso.
Macchiato, is stronger than Cappuccino, with a double shot of expresso and is equal to a retinal.
Expresso, the strongest coffee without any dilution is our retinoic acid. This is only a prescriptive product cause it needs to be monitored by a dermatologist.

Although the insights we can have in meditation tell us nothing about the origins of the universe, they do confirm some well-established truths about the human mind: Our conventional sense of self is an illusion; positive emotions, such as compassion and patience, are teachable skills; and the way we think directly influences our experience of the world and ourselves.

Let's not fret too much about our skins!! Anxiety is one of the main causes for skin to misbehave (the first is the use of wrong skin care products).
Right choice of products and a healthy lifestyle...these are the 2 ingredients that make skin radiant and glowing.

Let's evaluate our choices today...(these are so ingrained in our minds by the marketing gurus who benefit from our ignorance)

1) More is not better!! Less is more... do not confuse your skin with too many products..
2) If you like to indulge, please begin with spending on a great sunscreen (believe me, this will save you many more bucks later)
3) Face wash has a simple function, to wash the face!! Don not over think and over expect from it. Buy a simple (inexpensive) one that does its job of cleaning and nothing else (Its time to forget the tall claims of clearing acne and skin lightening)
4) I repeat, less is more!! One active at a time, helps not only your pockets but also your skin. (let one active work its wonders and then move to the next frontier you want to conquer)
5) It is very natural to want the perfect skin of the girl/guy on the screen, but let's be realistic, most likely there is makeup on, or filters or good genes that the celebrity is flaunting, very rarely a skin care product can transform you to what you see...

My advice, keep your head on your shoulders and think twice before you splurge on the next beauty product that you see on your screens!!

As we all are struggling to keep warm this winter, the lips (one of the exposed parts of our body, and at times, overused) does not have a warm rug to duck under.

And when our lips are dehydrated, it can be tempting to lick and moisten them. The effect is temporary and might make things worse. Licking our lips coats them in a layer of your saliva, which contains enzymes and chemicals used to digest food in your mouth. These enzymes can lead to additional dryness!!

When you reach for the lip balm, try to avoid those with potentially irritating ingredients like parabens, alcohol, and fragrances. To make the most out of your lip balm, choose products with SPF, which protects your skin from sun damage, and ceramides, which are fats that help lock in moisture.
