Dr. Ganga Pilli, Vice Principal of KLE 's JGM Medical College, Hubballi gave awareness on blood donation and its importance. Administrator Col. Dr.Arunkumar and staff of KHMRC, Hubballi were present during the session.

Celebrated International Emergency Medicine day May 27 on 3rd June 2024 at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & KAHER University, Belagavi. The function was conducted by Emergency Medicine department JNMC, KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital.

The theme was “𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬 𝗧𝗢𝗢”
Function was dedicated to all the heroes of Emergency Medicine practitioners who are always on their toes to save the lives of critically ill patients.

The function was inaugurated by Dr. Nithin Gangane Hon’ble Vice Chancellor KAHER, Belagavi.

The function was presided by Guest of honor DR V.D.Patil, Dr. N.S. Ganachari, Dr. (Col) M. Dayananda, Dr. R.B. Nerli and chaired by Dr. (Mrs) N.S. Mahantashetti (Principal, JNMC) in the presence of Dr. Rajesh Pawar, Dr. V.M. Pattanshetti and Dr. Arif Maldar. Dr. C.S. Sanikop (HOD,EMS) welcomed all the dignitaries and honored everyone. Lamp lighting was done by all the dignitaries.

Dr. Gangane spoke about the importance of Emergencies and “Golden hour management” and its awareness in public as it can save many lives. Hence it is necessary to make propaganda about this in the society by all of us and through media. He also told our KLE hospital provides all the tertiary care facilities for critically ill patients through Emergency Medicine Department.

Dr. R. Rajesh (Asst Professor EMS) spoke about the importance of Emergency Medicine. Time is more important to reduce complications such as morbidity and mortality if the patient is brought within golden hour instead of patients going to multiple hospitals who doesn't have tertiary care facilities and Emergency department.

Our KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC is the only hospital having Emergency Medicine department in and around Belagavi.
Dr. Lakshmi M (PG resident) spoke about the evolution of Emergency Medicine and the present status of Emergency medicine department at KLE.

Dr N.S. Mahantashetti (Principal, JNMC) talked about how much struggle was taken to establish a department with PG program. She extend her support for further development of the department such as manpower will be provided in coming days.

Vote of thanks and present status of EMS at KLE was spoken by Dr. Shrinivas Kulkarni (Professor, EMS).

Daily 100-200 Emergency cases and attended in the department out of which 30% are cardiac, 20%pediatric, 20%Trauma, 10%poisonings, assault and medico legal cases and 20% others. These cases are managed efficiently by EMS Faculties, Post graduates with cooperation of all the allied departments.

Free Thyroid Camp

Free Thyroid Screening camp was conducted on June 5, 2024 in view of the World Thyroid Day by Department of Endocrinology,

100 Patients (80 New and 20 Old) were screened for thyroid illness with Thyroid Function Test for detection of new cases and follow up.

Free consultations and awareness campaign was conducted by the faculties, as part of the thyroid camp.

Voluntary Blood Donation camp organised at Toranahalli, Tq : Chikodi, on the occasion of Sri Sudhakar N Kad birthday on 01.06.24 total 82 blood collected.

KLE Hospital and Medical Research Centre in Hubballi conducted an awareness campaign on 'No To***co Day' to educate laborers working at the hospital site about the detrimental effects of to***co. They explained the health and financial benefits of quitting to***co.

Multilingual leaflets on awareness of consumption of to***co were printed and distributed to them.

at Toranahalli, Chikodi

National training programme in practical pediatric oncology was conducted at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC, Belagavi on 26th at KLE Anubhav Mantap. There were 7 faculties from all over India which included eminent faculties like Dr. Anand Prakash from St. John’s Bengaluru , Dr. Harsha Prasad from KMC Mangaluru, Dr. Vibha Bafna and Dr. Parag Mahankar from Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune and Dr. Abhilasha from KLES Hospital Belagavi. The aim of the programme was to create awareness among the practicing paediatricians regarding timely diagnosis and golden hour management of paediatric cancers. The programme was attended by 70 delegates and was an excellent learning experience. The inaugural programme was attended by Dr. M.V Jali, MD and CEO of KLE cancer hospital.

Scheduled Eye Checkup camp organized at Nippani in association with Nippani Rotary Club on 24th May 2024, Total 86 peoples are got benefitted, 17 peoples referred to KLES Hospital Belagavi.

20 patients are selected for free cataract surgery, sent to KLES Hospital, nehru nagar belagavi.

Achieves Milestone in Cochlear Implant Surgeries for Children.

KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital is well known for state-of-the-art medical services and quality care. As an empanelled center under the Government of Karnataka’s Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) scheme, the hospital continues to make advances in providing accessible and quality healthcare to economically deprived class of society.

The Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital has successfully completed five additional cochlear implant surgeries in a single day for children born with deafness. This significant achievement brings the total number of children who have benefited from this life-changing procedure to 21, all provided free of charge under the Government of Karnataka's SAST scheme.

Dr. Priti Hajare, the lead surgeon, reported the successful completion of all five surgeries. The anaesthesia team, led by Dr. Kedareshwar and Dr. Nikita Mahantshetty, ensured the procedures were safely performed. Following their surgeries, the children will undergo a year of postoperative Auditory Verbal Therapy (AV Therapy) at KLE Hospital, facilitated by a dedicated team of audiologists, including Mrs. Rakhi and Mr. Sujan.

This initiative highlights KLE’s Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital’s commitment in providing comprehensive care and support to children with hearing impairments, empowering them with the ability to hear and communicate effectively.

Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Machine inaugurated at KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore hospital & MRC, at the hands of Dr. Amit Maydeo, a world renowed Endoscopist working at sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital Mumbai, in the presence of Dr. Prabhakar Kore chairman of KLE Society and Dr. Santosh Hajare HOD Chief of Gastroenterology Department.

Voluntary Blood Donation camp held at ‘ECC Hall AL-FATEH Building, Azam Nagar, 4th cross, Belagavi in association with ‘We Care Foundation’ on 12th May 2024.

Mega health screening camp was conducted at Sadegudawale, chandgad on 14th May 2024.

More than 433 people attended this camp and got benefitted. All investigations such as BP, Blood Sugar, ECG were done in this camp.
