Cane furniture is RED HOT. Although you don’t need me to say this, you are probably seeing it everywhere from the cover of Grazia and pages in Elle Décor to the high street shops like Made and West Elm, to high end luxury interior brands like 101CPH and The Conrad Shop and even budget friendly Ikea is jumping all over the Cane trend.
From headboards to side tables to cabinets, chairs to benches and stools. Cane in the bedroom just feels right. It creates a soft, soothing, calm vibe, it is certain to send you off to a blissfully sound sleep.

If someone calls you “Bohemian” you're probably artistic, casual, and likely a little cosmopolitan. Similarly, when it comes to design and decor, the Boho Interior Design trend is all about letting go of convention and filling your space with unique elements.

Don't let those fickle leaf figs fool you. Not every houseplant requires a natural green thumb and extensive gardening expertise.
My Preference would be Areca Palm, which is your favorite?

All these houseplants help in absorbing indoor air pollutants which emits from petroleum products & paints, wooden furniture. It even strengthens the central nervous system.

From sustainable materials to nontoxic elements and end-of-life cycles, we’re laying out what you should look for when going for sustainable wall finishes which adhere to eco friendly elements.
1. Shirasu Kabe is a unique plaster wall finish produced from volcanic soil in Japan. It is applied by hand in textures using trowels. It also controls humidity; extracting humidity when levels are high and releasing the same when areas are dry.
2. Cork fabric is inherently anti-bacterial, thermally & acoustically insulative.
3. Ivory Mosaic tile is environmentally safe and sustainably sound, harvested from palm trees and carved into penny round mosaics suitable for walls. Natural, warm & durable; it is as dense and strong as marble stone.
4. Barnwood Tiles are derived from an eclectic mix of reclaimed, re-purposed and recycled wood materials. The material provides for a natural variations and unique characteristics, as no two pieces of Barnwood Tile are alike, as if the material were personalized for your project. Supplied in pre-mounted panel sections for easy installation using a contact adhesive.

There was a time when the term eco-friendly evoked images of bland, boring and blah materials. Thankfully, that is not the case today. As more and more designers are seeking out eco-friendly materials for their environmentally savvy clients manufacturers have stepped up and given the design world many beautiful options to pick from.
1. Cork - is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree commonly found in the forests of the Mediterranean. The trees are not cut down to harvest the bark, which will grow back every three years, making it an ideal renewable source. It has anti-microbial properties that reduce allergens in the home, is fire retardant, easy to maintain and acts as a natural insect repellent too.
2. Bamboo - is durable, easy to maintain and is easy to install. Bamboo is sustainable and made from natural vegetation that grows to maturity in three to five years, far less than the twenty years trees can take.
3. Linoleum - Linoleum is created from a concoction of linseed oil, cork dust, tree resins, wood flour, pigments and ground limestone.
4. Glass tiles - This renewable source is fast becoming a wonderful option for floors as well as bathroom and kitchen walls. Glass has similar benefits of other eco-friendly materials. It is non-absorptive and won’t mildew or mold in damp environments. It is easy to maintain and won’t stain.
5. Concrete - From creating a tiled effect with different colors to inlaying other materials such as glass the design possibilities are endless. Concrete is extremely durable, easy to clean and never needs to be replaced.
6. Reclaimed Hardwood - Reclaimed wood is ideal as it reuses existing wood from trees that were chopped down a long, long time ago. Salvaged wood flooring can look beautiful in older homes or in a beach cottage.

Ensconced within the urban sprawl of Bangalore, a contemporary family home basks in the rustic tones of terracotta. Designed by local architecture firm Greyscale Design Studio, the house is a 2-storey affair of raw materials and earth tones, fronted by a striking brick jali.
Brick is the primary material in the palette, and is complemented with mud plaster, kota stone, and splashes of warm Burma teak wood. Concrete and cement oxide structures are left true-to-form, and all metal fixtures are naturally rusted to create an earthy, textured finish. “They wanted it to be as rustic as it could get,” say the architects, “But at the same time, very interactive and with a lot of greenery all around.”
The most interesting feature of the house is its rainwater harvesting system, which collects all run-off from the terrace and stores it in an underground 10 ltr tank. Moreover, the space under the exterior staircase is used to store terracotta composting bins, artfully obscured by planters. Finally, the whole house is powered by solar panels installed on the terrace—and all excess power is sent out to the municipal electricity board.
