1st KSOL INTRA PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE COMPETITION, 20th- 22nd April, 2018

We're pleased to announce that Tarka Samuha is hosting the 1st
INTRA KSOL PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE COMPETITION from the 20th till the 22nd of April 2018

To take part in this competition you need to form teams of 3 and adjudicators should register individually, this competition will be in Asian Parliamentary debate format.

Here are a few glimpses of the on-going Parliamentary Debate workshop organized by Mr. Souradip Sen, Partner, Debate India.

We are at the verge of ending up with Session - 2.

Session 3 will begin post-lunch sharp at 2:30 P.M, which will be followed by a Practice Debate!

This is also to inform that the students who could not attend the first two sessions owing to the other events happening in the campus, can surely join us Post-lunch at 2:30 PM in LH-2.

DEBATE WORKSHOP BY MR. SOURADIP SEN

Hi Everyone!
TARKA SAMUHA- The Debsoc of KIIT deemed to be University, proudly presents before you a 1-Day Training Workshop by Debate India.
Mr. Souradip Sen, Partner, Debate India, is one of the most notable names in the Asian debating circuit. He was a member of the first team to qualify to the knock-out stages of WUDC from South Asia. He was a semifinalist at the Asian BP 2017, and is an elected Deputy-Chief Judge at the United Asians Debating Championships 2018.

The workshop will focus on the following :-
a) Introduction to Debating
b)Introduction to 3v3 Debating
c) Introduction to British Parliamentary Debating
● WUDC format
● Speaker Roles
d) Practice Debate

DATE- 14TH JANUARY, 2018
VENUE- LH-3
TIME- 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM

THERE IS NO REGISTRATION FEE!

The last Date to register is 13th January before 5 PM. It is open only to 60 students [Only for KSOL] on a first-cum-first-serve basis.

Hi Everyone!

We are proud to announce that the 4th Edition of KSOL National Parliamentary Debate, will be held over the weekend of 9th-11th March, 2018
(TENTATIVE- Almost there!)

- The format is of Asian Style 3-on-3

-The team cap will be at 32. Initial team cap per University is 3.

-Institutional Cross teams are allowed.

We will open registration in November and update information about the tournament as soon we can.

We further request to other colleges, try not to host their National PDs in the same weekend.

Indian Women's Debating Championships - IWDC

Hello!

While we are in the process of finalizing the members of our Adjudication Core, we are delighted to open registrations for the IWDC 2017 today!

The Championship is open to all women to debate in teams of two (British Parliamentary Format) and to adjudicate, with or without any affiliation to an institution.

There is no team cap at IWDC. We are willing to host as many teams as possible.
However, to make arrangements better for all participants, we would request all interested women to register before the 31st of January, 2017.

Good Evening people.

This is to inform you all that KSOL is proud to host the 3rd Edition of Indian Women's Debate Championships (IWDC), from 24th-26th March, 2017.

The 4th KSOL PD which was supposed to be held in March'17 will now be scheduled in the later half of 2017. :-)

With the debating season knocking the doors, we will be starting with the Screenings for the upcoming National PDs.

The Debating Fraternity of KSOL wishes everyone a very happy and prosperous Holi. :)

And just like all good things, even this came to an end!
The 3rd edition of the KSOL Parliamentary Debate organised by Tarka Samuha finally came to a close yesterday with the cross team consisting of Adithya Iyer, Manav Garg and Vikrant Varma taking away the winners trophy, alongwith Adithya winning the best speaker & Vikrant grabbing the third position as a speaker,and we couldn't have been happier for them! Thank you so much for joining us! 😁we definitely can't forget to thank Thomas V, Sanjay Krishna and Rajendra Dangwal of NLU Jodhpur for giving us such a brilliant debate in the grand finale. 😊

We'd like to give a special mention to the IIT KGP team comprising of Aliya Jabbar, Ruchika Bhatia and Aradhana Kumar for having made it to the semi finals and being the first team on the tabs to break in! So proud of you girls! ✌🏻️
The other team that made it to the semis was the team from NUJS comprising of Kushagr Bakshi, Archit Krishna and Shourya Dasgupta. Archit Krishna was also judged the 2nd best speaker of the tournament. Congrats 😁Not to forget how we absolutely love Shourya's style of speaking which makes us laugh even as he discusses serious IR issues!😅We'd love to have you here with us again!

Coming to the adjudicators, we congratulate Imran Raja of BUET for being the best adjudicator of the tournament and we hope you had a nice experience judging! 😊Many congratulations to Gitanshu Bhatia of IIT KGP and Rohit Biswas of NIT Rourkela for ranking second and third in the same category, respectively! 😊

Also, for the first time in the history of Indian Parliamentary Debating did we have a "chair trainee" for the Grand finale and I guess this sure as hell deserves a special mention! Ladies and gentlemen, proud to present to you, THE Sounak Sarkar, our very own THANKLESS CHAIR! 😂

Apart from the winners,we would also like to thank Nanda, Rakib and Imran for adding immense value to our event by gracing us with their presence for the event! We got to learn so much from y'all and it's a promise that we'll be more punctual next time onwards, for sure! 🙈

And. And. And. Take a bow to one of the most amazing core adj panel that any event could boast of! Ambar, Aparna and Arghya! Such fantastic people to be around and work with! From Ambar's little 10 seconds dance (which I have recorded and saved for life) to Aparna's cappuccino's with extra sugar and Arghya's effortless cuteness when he said "I'm a nice person" , we are sure we couldn't have had a friendlier and more supportive core adj panel than you'll! 😁Thank you so much for making the tournament what it was and of course, for the absolutely brilliant motions that y'all came up with! 💛

We here, as the core and org comm, thank you guys for having joined us and we do hope that you had as much fun as we did! Congratulations and best wishes. 😊
