Tropical modernism - Blends sleek, minimalist design with the lush, vibrant elements of tropical landscapes, creating spaces that are both sophisticated and in harmony with nature.
In architecture, rhythm is the repetition of elements that create a sense of movement and order, much like in music. – Ludwig Mies van der Rohe
Nature’s nook!
A perfect harmony for readers.
A Tweak /
A house is more than a shelter. It can define every aspect of life. Human civilization has replaced their natural habitat with living indoors. While one cannot do away with indoors, especially in the Post-Pandemic era, one also cannot afford to be cut off from the external environment. Any built space largely affects the well-being and productivity of the body and mind of its occupants. With the conducive atmosphere that is created through making use of sunlight, air, and a touch of thriving greenery, in a comfortable structure with intelligent design, the inhabitants can live their life to the fullest. Team Uru opened up a new possibility for this house, a chance for it and its inhabitants to reconnect with nature through the most vital ideal for building a structure in this age: Sustainability. Combining both the environmental and economic aspects, the tweak was directed towards a more sustainable, environmentally-safe and classily-designed house, with a stroke of the rustic as well as the cosmopolite.

House of Parallel Courtyards!
LONGINESS
The house features an open and interactive layout with sunlight pouring in from the East.
Unique design elements like a cement-finished courtyard, special jali work for light control, and a combination of steel and glass roofing were incorporated. The kitchen is open-style with ample storage, and there’s a terrace pool for family gatherings.
The house’s exterior is designed with a neutral color palette and exposed cement-concrete finish. In 2023, the interior was completed with Teak wood, giving the house a
contemporary and linear design, reflecting the client’s modern attitude.

The Urban Slice
“Small plot, big dreams: Crafting cozy living on a 3.5 cent plot.”
The Urban Slice
“The Urban Slice” occupies a small site at the center of a scenic suburb of the city of Ernamkulam. Wedged tightly in between small sliced plots and buildings constructed over the last few years, at first glance, the property did not seem much suitable for new construction at all. Nevertheless, “The Urban Slice” proposed here, its structure adjusted to the position of the sun, its shape determined by adjacent structures and the distances in between them. This topographical condition drove the project’s conceptual design. On its east side, it features large fenestration, a side yard and main door. On the west side, it
accommodates all bedrooms and a side yard with an exterior garden. This north faced house has a parking facility for two cars. The logical arrangement of the organizational concept is further reinforced by the choice of building materials. Inside, the load-bearing concrete cross remains raw while the walls and fenestration take on the warmth of timber.
