Justice ML Mehta, chairman of the Delhi Dispute Resolution Society, emphasised the need for litigants to undergo mandatory Mediation before resorting to court proceedings, considering the escalating workload in the courts.

Addressing a symposium on Mediation hosted by the India Legal Research Foundation and APN News, Justice Mehta highlighted that Mediation is now an essential component of the court system and anticipates a reduction in pending cases in the years ahead.

The High Court Chief Justice stated, “Through the integration of human rights education in both family life and formal education, we can nurture a culture where the younger generation naturally respects and upholds human rights. This lays a robust foundation for a society that is more just and compassionate.”

Justice Desai emphasised that raising awareness about human rights is crucial in combating discrimination, prejudice, and injustices stemming from either ignorance or intentional violations of human rights.

In 2024, we might see further advancements in artificial intelligence, with more sophisticated applications in various industries. Augmented reality could become more integrated into our daily lives, perhaps changing the way we work, learn, and interact with the world around us.
