“The stigma around menstruation affects not only women but the entire community” - Manushi Chillar ENACTUS SSB UICET, PANJAB UNIVERSITY organised "MYTHARCHE - Transfusing NextGen Perspective" at GH1 on January 24, 2024 for breaking societal taboos about menstrual cycle. Prof. Simrit Kahlon, Dean Student Welfare (Women), Dr. Smita Sharma (Warden, GH-1) Dr Rajni Lambha, CEO REEDS was guest speaker on topic menstrual health and hygiene, Dr. Renuka salwan, President, corporate sustainable council , Chandigarh were amongst the dignarities present for the event. The talk was followed by a theme based theatrical performance by the Enactus member of the Panjab University on how the upcoming generation should help in dismanting the taboos associated with menstruation and the steps to be taken to make the topic more approachable. The mesmerizing theatrical performance was highly appreciable by one and all. A stall was also set up for promoting the products made under projects led by Enactus SSB UICET. "Financial literacy is the key that unlocks the door to economic empowerment and a secure future" ~Suze orman ENACTUS SSBUICET PANJAB UNIVERSITY conducted a workshop on January 20, 2024 that empowered women with essential knowledge on financial literacy and menstrual hygiene. Expert speakers shared valuable insights on managing finances, budgeting, and making informed financial decisions. Different schemes of government related to finance was brought to notice to the underprivileged community along with the importance of digitalisation of their skills and products. Simultaneously, members of the society talked about menstrual hygiene, breaking societal taboos and promoting health awareness. The reusable cloth based sanitary napkins made under project UDAY was introduced in front of them and showed how this can be a better alternative for the sanitary napkins present in the markets. This went along with the distribution of cloth based sanitary napkins among the community. As we have a look at our last year, it was full packed with action and work towards our two projects, namely Dhra and Uday. We kicked our year 2023 by organizing a set up stall in Delhi along with IHE Delhi. Our team made our presence felt in various competitions as we made it to the semi-finals of Enactus India National Exposition 2023 and bagged the first runner up prize at INNOVISION at IIT Ropar. Cleanliness drives were organized at student center and near Dhanas Lake, Chandigarh. We didn’t let anything untouched as we also set up stalls at rose fest, CHASCON, Khadi exhibition, Tarang and at MCM DAV College. A diya painting workshop, Kalakriti, devoted to development of individuals with disabilities was also arranged. This last year was a great success which wasn’t possible without such a great team and an appreciable faculty advisor like Prof. Seema Kapoor ma’am who always stood there as the backbone of Enactus whenever we find ourselves amidst of any problem. On November 7th, 2023, Team Enactus hosted and organized this annual event at Samarth Jiyo in Sector-15, Chandigarh. With every stroke of the paintbrush against the diyas, the room was adorned with pure, innocent joy and immaculate creativity, aiding Team Enactus to complete yet another stride in the field of service, inclusivity and devotion to the cause of making a difference, with every single ray of opportunity in our hands. The team was incredibly grateful to have had Ms. Puneet Madan, the esteemed Coordinator of Social Substance, bless the event with her presence and help the team and participants by means of her prowess and creativity. Enactus SSBUICET, Panjab University celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day with the specially-abled children of Samarth Jiyo, residential care for special children in Sector 15, Chandigarh. A workshop was conducted on the topic “Colors of Unity: Hand in Hand for Independence”, in which the specially-abled children were taught to paint the Indian flag on chart paper using watercolours. Enactus SSBUICET organised a trip to Delhi to broaden the scope of Project Uday and Dhra beyond Chandigarh.The team visited the Institute of Home Economics (IHE) and set up a booth for Uday and Dhra to discuss the advantages and impact of our projects. In addition, the team interacted with members of the general public in a Delhi park, where they explained people about projects Uday and Dhra and how these projects have been making a positive impact towards sustainable development. Enactus SSBUICET organised the seventh workshop in the "MYTHARCHE" series on menstrual health and hygiene during seven day NSS camp being organised at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women. A total of 100 NSS volunteers, 20 members of Enactus, and 10 members of the PU theatre team attended the workshop. The workshop's goal was to raise awareness regarding good menstrual hygiene and the necessity of switching to cloth-based sanitary napkins. Dr. Neelam Sodhi gave an insightful lecture on menstruation and the importance of good menstrual hygiene. The Panjab University Drama Team gave a performance that addressed the lack of understanding of the topic in an engaging and instructive way after the discussion. Team Enactus SSBUICET visited Navyug Laminates today, a unit of Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana, which is into manufacturing of lining & fusible interlining, laminated & technical fabrics for the Garment Industry. Project Uday of Enactus and Project Amodini of Versatile Enterprises has been working in collaboration since a long time now. This industrial visit was helpful in enhancing the horizons of the Enactus team and helping the Enactus students understand the intricate working of the industry and at the same time gain the experience, skills and contacts necessary to build a successful career.

Enactus, Dr. SSBUICET, Panjab University, in collaboration with Versatile Group, addressed the taboo around menstruation and menstrual hygiene through "Mytharche: Transfusing NexGen Perspective," a mega event organised during Dr. SSBUICET, Panjab University's cultural fest, 'Cyanide,' under the direction of our faculty advisor, Prof. Seema Kapoor. The event's keynote speaker, Dr. Neelam Sodhi, promoted awareness about menstrual cycles and how to maintain basic menstrual hygiene.
