Thenkuzhal - done in two nazhi- oosi thenkuzhal and thadhiman thenkuzhal. The first is thin and slender and the second is this. The press makes the difference though both dissolve in the mouth. Each home has its own combinations . Made from my mother's recipe. Handed down to her from her mother.

When my patti used to make this vepilaikatti, I used to think it's made of neem leaves😁. When she used to say leaves not there to make, I used to tell her , you have big neem tree and say no leaves. Learnt then it was made with a combo of lemon or narthai leaves and curry leaves with needed spices. 😊😊.

Talippu vadam. How many of you use this to season your sambar or kuzhambu? My husband is not so a favourite of onions and both of us don't like poondu aka garlic.
